Chapter 7
The sight of the night sparrows bursting out with a “poof” was nothing short of a catastrophe. Black wings blotted out the sky. The flapping of wings and the untimely chirping of sparrows echoed from all directions, disorienting anyone standing in their midst.
Facing the swarm of night sparrows pouring out like a waterfall, Sophia smiled fearlessly. Her chest swelled for a moment, aided by the ethereal muscles forged through the Reverse Muscle Technique. Inner energy surged from her lower dantian, coursing through the eight extraordinary meridians and twelve primary channels, while her chakras resonated with the intertwining forces of Kundalini and Prana.
The Mark of the Anointed, Gias, the traces of chivalry and trials all worked together to recreate the “Roar that Shakes Heaven and Earth.” Through the Reverse Brain Method, the ethereal brain activated a pre-stored sound amplification spell.
And thus, the optimized technique for mass civilian slaughter, the Lion’s Roar, erupted.
[Look――at――me――!!!!!]
The heavens and earth trembled violently from the mere shout. A terrifying roar, filled with illusions and chaotic energy, shattered like pottery. The night sparrows, which had been charging at Sophia as if to crush her, were all obliterated in an instant, vomiting blood from the sheer force of the roar.
Sophia glanced indifferently at the falling sparrows, twirling the longsword in her hand before planting its tip into the ground like a staff.
“Hey, you disgusting little demon? If you have any pride, stop sending useless minions and face me yourself.”
{You’re so terrifyingly ignorant…… Do you know that reckless women like you aren’t popular with men?}
“Huh? All you know is how to manipulate men with your tricks, sending minions and followers to do your dirty work. I can’t even hear you, you pathetic loser~”
{Crazy bitch…… I’ll make you regret your words as you die!}
With another “poof,” the entrance of the tent burst open, and another swarm of night sparrows surged out.
“Useless,” [I said――!!!]
Once again, the violent, thunderous roar instantly killed countless night sparrows.
Of course, the opponent wasn’t a complete fool and wouldn’t use the same trick twice. The night sparrows were merely a smokescreen to obscure Sophia’s vision. The moment Sophia unleashed the Lion’s Roar, a crimson streak hidden in the shadows of the sparrows darted in, aiming to strike.
“Not bad?”
Seven streaks of blood light were deflected by the trajectory of the longsword swung like a windmill. More night sparrows burst from the tents. Crouching and emitting Light Power to fend off the sparrows, Sophia stepped back, creating an escape route while thinking.
‘This will just turn into a war of attrition. I need to force her true form out.’
In an instant, Sophia’s eyes scanned the surroundings. Her gaze fell on the extravagant tents from which the night sparrows were pouring.
‘Hmm. I’ll have to clear those out.’
A wicked smile curled on her lips.
“Let’s see if you can stay hidden after I burn everything to the ground!”
Having already used two of her five spell slots earlier, Sophia released the third.
“I knew this would happen!”
The third slot contained an ignition spell. In an instant, the stored spell activated, scattering condensed sparks of heat around her. The sparks quickly spread to the extravagant tents.
But that wasn’t all. Sophia pulled out rune-inscribed stones from a pouch at her waist and hurled them around. Each stone was engraved with characters symbolizing ignition. With the help of the spell stones, the ignition spell fully activated, setting the surrounding tents ablaze.
The demon’s chaotic energy frantically tried to extinguish the flames, but it was too late. Sophia, clad in protective energy and Light Power, charged through the flames like a cannonball, severing the demon’s attempts to put out the fire.
{Damn arsonist! Is this how a knight of the Church Order behaves?}
“Hahahaha, what are you so surprised about? Isn’t this how we usually deal with you guys?”
Sophia ran through the flames with a mad grin, tearing pieces of burning tents to spread the fire to those still untouched.
She moved through the fire without hesitation. Her armor, inscribed with protective runes and sanctified by Light Power, prevented the flames from touching her. Even the threat of carbon monoxide poisoning from her past life knowledge was irrelevant now, as the protective blessings surrounding her were far too powerful.
Sophia’s rampage only stopped when about 70% of the tents had burned down.
*Clang!* A sudden metallic sound rang out as Sophia sensed a crimson streak aiming for the back of her head.
“Kuku, finally moving, are you?”
Sophia swung her longsword like a clock hand, spinning her body to counter the attack. The light streak and the sword’s blade crossed paths, but the blood light, like a snake, tried to disappear into the flames.
“Hmph, not a chance!”
Sophia didn’t miss the blood light. Her eyes glowed with a cold, blue light, tracking the trail of the blood light. In an instant, her figure vanished, reappearing some distance away. Her left hand, now free of the longsword, swiftly grabbed the blood light.
What she caught was none other than a whip. The whip’s end had a sharp, blood-stained dagger, and its body was studded with jagged edges designed to tear flesh with the slightest touch.
{You fool! Grabbing the Whip of Debauchery with your bare hands? Once it touches your skin, you’ll be writhing like a dog in lust!}
The demon laughed, expecting Sophia to collapse, eyes rolling back, drooling, and succumbing to desire. But Sophia showed no such signs. Instead, she looked utterly baffled.
“The whip’s name is…… Whip of Debauchery? Seriously?”
{Why aren’t you affected!?}
“Well, you said it yourself, didn’t you? This whip only works if it touches the skin. Do my hands look bare to you?”
Sophia waved her gloved hand, genuinely confused. A longsword wielder who might grab a blade mid-fight wouldn’t go around bare-handed, let alone a fully armored knight.
{But mere gloves shouldn’t nullify my power! You should’ve been affected indirectly!}
“If I could be affected by something so trivial, I wouldn’t have passed the Paladin initiation test…….”
Sophia sighed, wondering why she was being underestimated so much.
In fact, she wished she hadn’t passed. Then she wouldn’t be running around like a dog, unpaid, dealing with this mess.
Thinking about it, Sophia felt a surge of anger.
Come to think of it, isn’t this all because of those damn demons?
Yeah, that’s right.
“So I guess I’ll have to kill the demon.”
Sophia tightened her grip on the whip and pulled. Her gloved hand, infused with Light Power, shone brilliantly.
To her surprise, as she pulled, the whip’s owner was yanked out like a fish on a hook. Despite being a demon, Erchebet was no match for Sophia’s strength, agility, or endurance.
{You monster!}
“Not something I want to hear from a man-eating demon.”
The figure revealed was a woman with corpse-like blue skin, pointed ears, horns, and a sensual appearance. The only downside was the mouths with sharp fangs and forked tongues, and the bloodshot eyes scattered across her body.
As the nun knight pulled the whip, the demon was helplessly dragged out. Sophia fixed the demon’s form in mid-air with a burst of energy.
“Now begins the execution.”
{No! You can’t kill me!}
Erchebet screamed, trying to use her power to transform into a swarm of lust-filled night sparrows and escape.
“Useless.”
But her attempt was in vain. The Mark of the Anointed on Sophia’s forehead glowed. The tattoos of Gias on her body, the traces of chivalry and trials in her meridians, all shone brightly.
The traditions of the Hebrews’ “Chosen Ones,” the Celtic warriors’ “Oath of Fealty,” the chivalric literature’s “Knightly Traditions,” and the Greek myths’ “Heroic Traditions” all manifested at once. The demon, now a monster to be slain, was fixed in the execution ground, unable to escape.
Sophia’s hand, clad in Light Power, reached the demon’s head. Facing inevitable death, the demon could no longer resist.
