Chapter 66

Friede777 Panel Board

[Friede’s Reaction LOL]

Sister is currently spacing out because of the 2-use limit on the Broken Greatsword, haha!

(Clip of Friede spacing out after reading the announcement)

Finally, we can see her fighting with different weapons in this Ten1 series.

The organizers really know how to set the scene, for real.

<ㄴThe Dominator: Friede is forced to revive like a dog, LOL!

<ㄴGarterbelt: She was just swinging the Broken Greatsword and occasionally going off like a ninja or something, tsk tsk, serves her right!

<ㄴDust Collecting Bankruptcy: They’re letting the sandbags loose, haha!

---

[The hell, did the tournament rules really change?]

Each weapon’s use limited to 2 times?

Contestants who were pushing through with their main weapon are doomed, haha!

<ㄴSkinny Kid: For real, LOL!

<ㄴLight Sword: Guess everyone has tiers, so it shouldn’t matter that much… right?

<ㄴDust Collecting Bankruptcy: It was odd to only use one weapon like before. Aren't they supposed to find promising players?

<ㄴMidir Who Eats Sister: For real, what kind of pro plays using just one weapon?

<ㄴWashing Basin: Isn't it also a problem if they can't perform in the tournament because they can’t use their main weapon?

<ㄴMidir Who Eats Sister: What’s the problem? If your main weapon gets sealed and you can’t show up to the tournament, what makes you think you’ll make it as a pro? Better to filter those out early, geez.

<ㄴhope5555: Pros look like garbage for real.

---

[People are saying this is Friede's downfall]

Wasn't the Broken Greatsword her original weapon?

She should be fine, probably...

<ㄴSweet Man: Just pick any weapon and it'll be better than the Broken Greatsword, for real.

<ㄴDust Collecting Bankruptcy: Even coming at it with dual daggers would be better than the Broken Greatsword, @@ playstyle may differ though.

<ㄴLAmpadu: Are they giving Friede another weapon? That’d be a game-changer.

---

[Isn’t this a target on Friede?]

If Friede sweeps everything with the Broken Greatsword, wouldn't the tournament just fall apart?

Just think about all the swag getting wrecked. It’d be a mess for both the brawl tournament and the STK team.

I’d feel sorry for any flower that gets wrecked and suffers from losing to the Broken Greatsword that they changed the rules.

I can already see the outcome.

<ㄴRed Lotus: Nah, it’s Friede who’s getting wrecked.

<ㄴLAmpadu: Don’t be ridiculous.

<ㄴKim Melted Grenade: Now they're even saying they might be targeting Friede, what the hell, LOL!

<ㄴOlder Brother: Why curse our sister, ready to die? Loser!

<ㄴSister and I: Don’t show it, you idiot.

---

[Who is Friede?]

You guys chatter so much that I know the name, but is she famous?

<ㄴKim Melted Grenade: If you don’t know Friede from Soul Warfare, are you even a spy?

<ㄴOlder Brother: Oh, so you only know her name! Let me explain for those who don’t know. She’s a rare female player in Soul Warfare who climbed from unranked to Challenger, and she wrecks even seasoned Challengers like it’s nothing. She’s seriously that good. Any attack with a hint of a gap gets completely parried, and her escape control is both elegant and acrobatic, no fakes work on her. But since she’s so OP, she actually filled her own sandbags to balance things out. The issue is that she insists on using the Broken Greatsword—a weapon notorious for being the worst. It has no rivals in terms of attack power, reach, speed, etc., and if two Grand Master level players teamed up with sick OP weapons against her, there might be some chance to make it a fair fight. In fact, she’s lost because of this a few times.

<ㄴSister and I: Seriously, just don’t show it, please.

<ㄴSkinny Kid: That’s two heroes causing a ruckus, haha!

---

The community was thrown into chaos by the sudden rule changes in the brawl tournament.

Weapon usage limited to 2 times.

Even users who typically stubbornly stick to one weapon—often referred to as 'chungs'—considered that romantic in their eyes, would find this a headache-inducing problem as contestants.

Each user has what’s referred to as a signature pick, their secret card weapon.

Having each weapon limited to twice means there’s a restriction on utilizing those secret weapons.

Depending on the tournament bracket, a new headache arose from this rule change regarding which weapons to fight with.

And the new topic that gained attention due to this change was none other than Friede's progression.

The weapon limitation was essentially like untying the sandbags attached to Friede, which made many curious about which weapon she’d showcase her flair with.

At first glance, one might think that the weapon use limit penalized her, but with a slight shift in perspective, she could actually be seen as the biggest beneficiary.

The ridiculousness of using the Broken Greatsword heightened that exception.

Unless she gets eliminated at lightning speed, she would inevitably have to fight with 'different weapons.'

Many were focused on what weapon and what style of play she would display.

And amidst this maelstrom of change…

“Woocha!”

Friede was once again battling and completing ranked games with the Broken Greatsword, knocking enemies down.

Since she has successfully reached Challenger, no one could shake her firm resolve to settle into a stable rank.

With the brawl tournament just around the corner, there probably wouldn’t be time for leisurely ranked games, and there was a real chance her rank would drop and she could end up demoted from Grand Master.

Sure, one could understand up to this point.

But the current ranked game play of Friede was drawing the audience's attention.

Specifically….

[Hey you loser!!! Even with many Broken Greatswords, two is the limit!!!!]

[Sensei... Why aren't you practicing other weapons?]

[What's this... hinting at a collapse?]

[It’s clear. She’ll awkwardly try to parry with the Broken Greatsword, totally bombing out in the prelims while spectators leave, watch her nosedive into the dirt. Ugh, spit!]

[Is that the kind of stuff that resident jerk here should say?]

[No way, my sister is going to steal the limelight from the flower!

[If you want to steal the limelight, for crying out loud, practice other weapons! Why is she only using the Broken Greatsword?]

[It's a brawl tournament stadium, so you can’t climb the walls like a cicada... woosha?]

Even after seeing the announcement, she kept pushing through ranked games with the Broken Greatsword.

Perhaps viewers thought she was practicing separately when not on stream, but unfortunately (?), there was no sign of any practice with other weapons.

By this point, even viewers who had been tuning in while she was casually achieving Challenger started to feel a hint of worry.

「yaSergei donated 50,000 won!
—Hurry up and practice other weapons! Do you want to see me die?!」

“Thank you for the 50,000 won donation, yaSergei. But why would I need to practice other weapons?”

[????]

[Are you already deaf at just 20? What did she just say?]

[You really don’t need to, lol.]

[Sensei, if you keep this up, you’ll bomb out.]

[We want to see you win in a glorious display, not a pitiful scene where you get wrecked three times like an amateur!!!]

[Oh! You guys really lack faith.]

[Alright, everyone follow me. Pre-lulu-ya~]

[Pre-lulu-ya this nonsense, lol. It’s not just the host, but the viewers are really something, geez.]

Their determination, biting down hard, using donations and requests as their desperate measures, was quite pitiful to witness.

However, despite such fierce opposition, Friede’s demeanor exuded unwavering focus—truly the embodiment of determination.

Massive prize money, broadcasting boosts, and the gateway to becoming a pro…

In the historic brawl tournament with an uncontrollable scale,

While the atmosphere of the Soul Warfare industry sunk into chaos with new rules added,

“I'll stick to the Broken Greatsword for this match as well.”

[Hey!!!!!!]

Friede was once again fixated on the Broken Greatsword, grinding through ranked games.

On this peaceful evening broadcast, just two days before the preliminaries.

* * *

STK Brawl Tournament, the preliminary stages that can be considered the prologue.

This tournament rumored to have an exceptionally dazzling participant list,

Is made up of players who are basically challengers or Grand Masters; a truly dream team.

It was a dream stage that any celestial ranked player would find easy to challenge.

Thus, the atmosphere of not only the contestants but all users spectating was bound to be electrified.

But there are always exceptions.

“F*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck, f*ck!”

Right here, in the tournament arena, there was a person spewing curses nonstop.

With energy crumpled like a rag doll, gritting his teeth, it was Haldir, the 498th ranked challenger.

A user who barely squeaks into the challenger rank each season, often regarded as the weakest of the so-called four heavenly kings.

But even as the weakest of the heavenly kings, he was a formidable force that not even the typical Grand Masters could easily contend with.

As he fumbled backward, trying to compose himself, he was wary of the opponent in front of him.

That opponent was a player clad in golden cloak and silvery armor, helmet securely in place, wielding a spear…

It was Friede.
