Chapter 41
Chirp, chirp.
While this human was enjoying a sleep as sweet as honey, that damn little bird interrupted my deep slumber with its cries.
Still exhausted, I rolled over and felt something squishy touch my face.
‘······?’
I didn’t know what it was, but of course, I grabbed it.
In fact, a man can’t help but touch something squishy when he encounters it.
Even knowing it was a breast, it’s just the nature of a man.
“Huuh…”
Suddenly, I heard a strange moan that made my eyes widen…! Not that they opened, but something else stood up.
At that moment, memories of what happened this morning flooded back to me.
The sweet scent of night-blooming flowers filled the room.
Luna was hugging my head with both arms.
Her tail wrapped around my waist.
I thought to myself, it was the best decision to possess this body.
Now that I’ve eaten Luna, next time I have to take a bite out of the newly acquired high-class slave, Yui.
“Urrgh.”
I got up, feeling invigorated.
Looking at my non-dead junior, I pondered.
Could it be that the nanomachines are embedded in my junior?
I’ll stop the nonsense here and woke Luna.
“Luna, get up.”
“Yawn… Yes…”
Luna rubbed her eyes and got up while yawning.
I thought she wouldn’t have a hard time getting up, but it seemed that the diligent Luna who always woke up before me was quite tired after last night’s first night.
I stared at Luna as she gathered her clothes.
To be specific, I was observing her with my hands positioned like binoculars, my eyes wide open.
“···What are you looking at?”
“Breasts.”
“······.”
It seemed she’d lost words at my boldness.
But isn’t it better to confidently admit I saw them rather than lie and say I didn’t?
In response, she covered her chest even more and quickly dashed to the shower room.
If she covers them so forcefully, it actually makes them look more provocative as they peek out between her arms without her realizing.
Thinking I should get ready to wash as well, I was about to collect my clothes when something gigantic and squirmy touched my foot.
“Whoah! Damn, what the hell?!”
“Urrgh!”
Startled, I mindlessly kicked at it.
As it made a noise, I took a closer look and found it was that pig from yesterday.
I had said I would release it, but we enjoyed ourselves to the fullest and just left it there.
I should really set it free, but it looked too unpleasant to touch, so I decided to leave it as is.
“The receptionist will take care of it.”
Normally, it’s standard to indulge in irresponsible pleasures at places like motels and then make a run for it.
*
After washing up and getting dressed, I stepped out of the room.
I accidentally locked eyes with Yui, who was coming out of the opposite room.
Yui seemed startled, as her shoulders trembled significantly.
“Oh, did you sleep well…?”
“Yeah. You too.”
For some reason, her face turned red.
Could she really be having such thoughts?
No matter how oblivious she may be, it was the most absurd thing to say ‘for some reason’.
“Hey, Yui.”
“Yes, four!”
“Did you hear?”
-Whoosh.
Yui’s head was emitting steam like a freshly cooked rice pot.
Her face was crimson like blood, and she timidly nodded.
Well, it’s obvious, this inn isn’t soundproof, so she must have heard everything while trying to sleep.
But so what if she did?
What’s so wrong with sex?
It’s a sacred act that gives birth to life; shouldn’t it actually be something to be praised instead?
“What are you doing?”
“I heard she was awake and listening to us.”
“···What?”
“Ah, I didn’t hear anything!”
Luna, who followed behind, seemed flustered by my response.
She usually has it together, but in moments like this, she acts like a klutz.
Is she really that oblivious?
You wouldn’t know since you were out of it, but your moans were pretty loud~
“Forget it, let’s finish up and get going.”
I needed to head to the Count to tell him the request was completed and collect my reward.
Thinking about the triple increase in my reward made my mouth water.
I left the inn with Luna and Yui, heading for the Count’s mansion.
As we passed by the Adventurer’s Guild,
“Working hard this morning, huh.”
Today wasn’t really morning since I had overslept, but they were still busy working, so that remained unchanged.
“Luke, that looks… like something went wrong.”
“If they’re working that hard, they’ll figure it out. Let’s just stick to our own path.”
The Adventurer’s Guild felt unusually bustling.
It was as if the peaceful atmosphere from when I first arrived was all a facade.
But I was inclined to ignore it and just pass by.
I was about to literally just walk past when the receptionist, busy moving around, called out to me.
“Hey? Excuse me! You’re the adventurer who took the missing person request, right?!”
“It’s a trap! Get away from me!”
I bolted away.
And then I got caught again.
Damn it.
“Why did you call me? We’re busy.”
“An urgent request has been issued.”
I had just thought how I wished for urgent requests to come when I arrived, but it’s here right away?!
Did a deluxe fighter just intrude or something?
I wanted to enjoy the beach event after getting paid, but the world just wouldn’t leave me alone today.
‘Wait, am I an extra?’
I confirmed last time that the protagonist was alive and well, so why the sudden urgent request?
Sure, the protagonist may not be so reliable, but they’re still the protagonist.
Why is the poop coming to a person instead of flushing down the toilet?
I thought this until I entered the Adventurer’s Guild.
As I followed the receptionist who said she would give a detailed explanation,
“You, you are…!”
It sounded like it was directed at us, so I turned to the source of the voice, and lo and behold, there was a noticeably red-haired pretty boy pointing a finger at us!
To be precise, he was pointing at Yui, not me and Luna.
‘Aha. So this guy is here causing this unplanned event!’
It’s not even the right time for him to be here.
Putting aside why he’s here now, I just felt like I had to hit him.
-Smack!
I brought my hand down on the protagonist’s head.
“Urrgh!”
He looked like a shrimp but cried like a pig.
“Wait a minute! What do you think you’re doing?!”
I didn’t notice until I heard that voice that other members were present as well.
Blocking Arthur’s path and scolding me was Tia.
‘Of course. This kid wouldn’t be alone.’
Tia Roseberry, Riche Winchester, and a new brown-haired, short-statured commoner heroine named Stella, who I hadn’t seen last time.
It hasn’t even been long since school started, and she’s already built a harem around her.
Recently, she’s been slacking off, but here she is, blessed with women.
“I hit you because I found you annoying. You got a problem with that? If you do, why don’t you hit me back?”
So what are you gonna do?
Honestly, Tia isn’t my favorite character, nor is she my heroine.
If she gets aggressive, I’ll wipe out the main heroine and her friends, regardless.
Tia, being the second best, seemed like she wanted to retaliate.
And Riche was staring at me, probably plotting how to bother me this time.
In the meantime, Arthur shook his head several times in succession to regain composure.
Then he pointed at Yui again and said to me,
“I don’t know why you’re with her, but she’s the queen of vampires! You have to kill her!”
······How does he know about Yui, whom I haven’t even met yet?
Would I really be stuck on the same dull thoughts? That’s beyond brainless; it raises doubts about his humanity.
In times like this, there should be something to be suspicious about, but I felt foolish for spinning my wheels with explanations asking all sorts of things.
For instance, to confirm if he’s possessed, I could mention something nonexistent in this world and observe his reaction.
These clichéd dialogues are all part of the author’s absurd dragging plot.
“Hey. You’re a reincarnator, aren’t you?”
“······!”
Exactly.
“Ah, no I’m not···!”
“Sure, you aren’t, idiot.”
-Smack!
“Urrgh!”
He pretty much had ‘reincarnator’ written all over his face; there’s no way you can deny that.
“···Could it be you too?”
When I asked, hinting whether I was a reincarnator too, I gestured meaningfully with the sign for ‘mountain’ in sign language.
Honestly, being Korean, just this should be enough for you to figure out what I’m hinting at.
There are places where communication is done with just one character.
Suddenly, Arthur made a smug face as he puffed out his chest.
“Hah! I’m the protagonist! You’re just a worthless extra. Recognize your place and hand her over!”
“Yeah, sure, toilet.”
“Wha- Toilet?! Are you talking about me?!”
Isn’t the toilet the one who deals with the poop from the main characters as well?
It isn’t just a metaphor for those filthy girls; it’s true; he really is a toilet.
“Since there’s no toilet here, is it a bathroom?”
“This… this is outrageous…!”
Just from a few words, the guy inflates like a balloon.
Talk about a grim future for the Empire; it’s like a cell phone with the battery dead.
While I left Arthur to sulk, I glanced around at my companions who were lost, unable to comprehend our conversation—Luna and Yui.
Tia seemed further along with her affection points, her face equally outraged as Arthur’s.
Stella, being timid, was at a loss, simply clasping her hands to her chest and fidgeting.
Riche, though… She hadn’t acted this way in the original; something seems off about her since Arthur came around.
Even now, she’s looking at me with a blissful smile. How can she smile while her boyfriend is getting hit? She must be crazy.
At least Luna seemed indifferent.
And Yui seemed at a loss on what to do since this conversation revolved around her.
“Sigh… I’m exhausted. Let’s finish quickly and go have fun.”
Not wanting to drag this conversation any longer, I thought we should finish up with the urgent request and move on to relax.
“Who do you think you are, just leaving? You can’t leave until that girl is dead.”
Arthur drew his sword and aimed it at Yui.
“Hiiik…!”
Yui quickly ducked behind me and gently grabbed the hem of my clothes.
This was her backup plan.
This much should trigger my protective instincts enough to want to defend her.
“Why are you trying to hurt my girl?!”
-Smack!
“Ueeeeek!!!”
Sheesh, that was a third-hit strong.
Did I hit her too hard? I hope she doesn’t end up with a concussion.
