Chapter 340

[Miro Solo Concert Schedule Released]

(Miro Solo Concert Poster)

So it’s finally happening!

– How many seats are there?

ㄴ I heard there aren’t many.

– Is Miro doing a concert?

ㄴ Yep, there were hints about it last time.

[Look at Miro’s concert seating]

(Photo)

It seems like they rented an indoor venue, but is this really fitting for Miro’s status??

– Wow, why are there so few seats?

ㄴ But it’s a bit expensive.

ㄴ Right? Look at the damn prices.

– Scalpers are going to pop up.

ㄴ I mean, scalpers for a VTuber concert? LOL.

ㄴ With Miro, it’s likely, though.

[Miro: Expect great guests since we brought them all in]

Who’s the guest making her so confident?

– Maybe Slim Gold will show up?

ㄴ He’s probably super busy right now.

ㄴ Hard to expect anything more than Tenshi, right?

ㄴ But I feel like all the Celestial Realm folks will come.

ㄴ As soon as Miro calls, they’ll rush over, LOL.

– If Miro says that, she’s truly brought everyone in.

ㄴ For real…

[Look at the prices, seems like Miro’s gotten greedy, damn;]

What kind of concert has prices like that?

– They all tend to cost around that much.

ㄴ Really?? What on earth warrants such prices?

ㄴ I heard they’re giving out a lot of freebies.

– If Miro was looking to make money, she’d just keep filming, LOL.

ㄴ True, that’s a fair point.

[Miro is just incredibly funny right now…]

(Broadcast link)

The seats are so tiny that it seems unlikely they’ll sell out anyway, but she’s explaining it all hard, LOL.

– Ah, she really wants to sell them all.

– For real, the seats are nothing special.

– If it doesn’t sell out, it’ll be a sad sight.

ㄴ Oh, LOL.

ㄴ I’d be tempted to boycott;;

– Honestly, seems like a lot for a VTuber concert.

ㄴ But for Miro’s status, it’s not much.

[Miro <— But this kid can’t fail at all, LOL]

Since her side gig is booming, she’s got broadcasting rights, but she’s really putting in the effort.

- For real…

- What’s there to thank about? If it doesn’t benefit her, she’d quit.

ㄴ Eh, LOL.

ㄴ YouTube profits must be good, though.

ㄴ Yet she’s still not fully committed to acting, LOL.

ㄴ You shouldn’t watch Miro’s broadcasts.

[Miro really should just do everything now, yeah;;]

If you think of her path as the peak trajectory for Korean VTubers, it makes sense.

The kids behind her can easily follow her footsteps.

Right now, Miro is pioneering her path.

- Damn, it’s Miro again…

- I worship her, GOAT…

- This kid is truly a GOAT, LOL.

- Look at this surprise worship.

- Miro is amazing, but is it really all that?

ㄴ If it’s Miro, then yes, LOL.

[The reason Miro-level won’t show up again…]

(Miro Red Pill)

Miro’s voice and wit can be there, but

this kid’s face can’t make an appearance.

- For real, LOL.

- The Red Pill fundamentally dominates.

- Expect a ton of newcomers from the Red Pill.

[So is it true that this kid will be at Miro's concert?]

(Moon Chang-sik's profile photo)

It’s Moon Chang-sik.

This piece of work must be showing up at the concert since he’s been enthralled with Miro.

- Why is he coming? LOL.

- He’s not a singer.

ㄴ He did some songs with Miro, though, LOL.

ㄴ Moon Chang-sik sings well, for real.

- If he comes, it’s likely Slim Gold will come too.

[Moon Chang-sik’s singing skills]

(Check out this YouTube video)

Take a look, LOL.

- Wow, damn.

- This is terrible, LOL.

- This kid sings well too.

[Seriously, who’s better?]

(Moon Chang-sik's profile photo)

(Slim Gold's profile photo)

The veteran actor Moon Chang-sik vs. the rookie singer Slim Gold.

Who suits Miro better?

- Damn, both can go away.

- Obviously, it’s Chang-sik, LOL. There’s value there.

ㄴ Who knows when Slim Gold ages, he might have potential.

- Miro wouldn’t pick either, you dumbass, LOL.

ㄴ We’ll see, LOL.

- Slim Gold should enlist first.

ㄴ Ah, LOL.

ㄴ Has Chang-sik already done that?

ㄴ Yeah, LOL. Completed his service.

ㄴ Looks like Slim Gold lost this round, LOL.

[But is this kid not going to show up?]

(Lee Kang-jun’s profile photo)

He also composed a track for Miro and featured in it.

He seems like a guest that could appear.

- I think he's likely to show up, yeah.

- Damn, this kid’s changed a bit, huh?

ㄴ Miro might be his grand dream.

ㄴ They just meet within their own circle.

- Honestly, for a VTuber concert, it doesn’t really make sense for him to show up, even with his name.

ㄴ But think of it as an actor Kim Soo-hyun concert; that’s easier to understand.

ㄴ Ah, LOL.

[Low-key looking forward to the concert…]

The guest Mirror showing up <——

If she comes out and hits a major point, will the gallery explode??

- If she shows up, Miro will be a goddess, LOL.

- With Moon Chang-sik, Slim Gold, and Lee Kang-jun in the lineup, Mirror might feel slightly out of place?

ㄴ Then actor Kim Soo-hyun will come out and sing instead.

ㄴ Ah, LOL.

- First, just make sure to nail the ticketing, you idiot, LOL. I’ll be working the macros.

ㄴ Damn you, LOL.

ㄴ Let’s not mess this up; damn it.

[These idiots are seriously hilarious, LOL.]

(Miro Solo Concert Ticket)

Do you think you’ll even get to see them?

Half of these seats will be eaten up by macros, just expect it, LOL.

- Ah, that’s annoying, LOL.

- Yeah, I can do that too, LOL.

- The seats do look really few, huh, LOL.

- Damn it;;

***

A few days after the broadcast announced the concert.

“Su-hyun, it’s been a while.”

“Yeah, it really has.”

I met Park Kang-seok after a long time.

Well, it wasn’t a personal meeting; it was for work, and Park Kang-seok came to pick me up.

“Did you have fun while I wasn’t here?”

Strapping on my seatbelt, I asked playfully.

“...I helped out others.”

“Really?”

“Yes, I had to earn my paycheck.”

Then again, there’s no way they’d let a veteran like Park Kang-seok just sit around.

He probably earns well for his experience.

“How were the others?”

“Well... it was pretty much the same as usual.”

“What about compared to me?”

I suddenly became curious and asked.

Whether I was an easy person to work with as a manager or not.

Since Park Kang-seok isn’t the type to lie, he’d tell me as it is.

“Su-hyun? You’re easy, right?”

“Really?”

“Yeah, it’s mostly just moving around. It's not like we go to many places.”

“Wait, are you saying I'm being critiqued as a celebrity with nothing to do?”

“...Since you aren’t busy, the boss is giving me the stink eye.”

“Oh, does the representative also give you stink eyes?”

...Did I just not do enough work?

“Yes, they tell me to encourage you to work a bit more - something like that.”

“Wow... I really should do more then.”

Even I can see I haven’t been doing enough.

Isn’t this my management turning into a deficit?

After the concert ends, I might need to sort myself out.

By then, I should have finished with the drama, and a lot of work might come in.

If I get a good amount of free time, maybe I could shoot another project.

Leading roles… are a bit burdensome, so I might settle for a supporting role instead.

“By the way, is this your first ad?”

“Oh, the ad?”

“Yes, you’ve seen the materials I sent, right?”

“I’ve seen them.”

We were headed to an ad shoot, as Park Kang-seok had said.

I might not have to do it, but if I skipped this one, I feel like I would get cut.

I heard it's for some cosmetic brand, and I remember the pay was astounding.

“But it’s not my first ad.”

While to Park Kang-seok it may be new, it’s not so unfamiliar to me.

“Oh, really?”

“Yes, I did a game ad once. I’m still the exclusive model.”

“Really?”

Park Kang-seok might not know, but this Miro is a blue-chip in the VTuber ad industry.

They keep pouring in requests.

Though I only take them occasionally.

“That’s strange. I didn’t see it in your career.”

“…It was during my internet broadcasts.”

“Oh.”

For a moment, I could see Park Kang-seok’s bewildered gaze through the rearview mirror.

…Does he look down on internet broadcasts? Huh?

This too is a difficult gig to land.

Of course, the unit price… you can’t really compare, though.

I thought during my VTuber days, the ad rates would be reasonable.

But being a real celebrity is on a different level.

Is it that they’re inherently different types?

Comparing playing games a few times to shooting an actual ad on site is a different matter.

Anyway, chatting casually with Park Kang-seok, we headed to a shop in Gangnam first.

“Su-hyun! Why has it been so hard to see your face lately?”

“Haha… just doing other work.”

I got my makeup done by the director I hadn’t seen in a long time.

Looking in the mirror, I couldn't help but admire myself.

“Hmm.”

“Did you eat well today?”

“Yes, I’m satisfied.”

I’ve gotten used to my regular face by now.

But glam looks different altogether.

Looking into the mirror, maybe now I understand why the ad rates were so high.

“Alright, we’re ready to go.”

“Yes.”

After getting my makeup done, I hopped back into the car to head to the ad shoot.

“Oh, you’ve arrived, Su-hyun.”

“Yes, thank you.”

“Nice to meet you for the first time! I am….”

At the ad location, I met the person in charge from the cosmetic company's headquarters and a photo journalist.

“Have you ever used our products?”

“Oh, um… I’ve used them a few times.”

“Oh, good! Here’s how the ad will go….”

For the ad shoot, I just needed to act as if I were applying the cosmetic products, keeping my current makeup as it was.

Since my makeup was done well according to my skin type at a high-end place, the brand didn’t need to have me wipe it off and redo it.

With tons of cosmetic products laid out, I shot the ad according to the script.

Holding the products, I smiled at the camera, threw in a wink, and pretended to apply the products.

A part of me wondered if this counted as misleading advertising, but since the brand is reputable, I heard it’s acceptable.

Is this merely a formality in advertising?

To put it plainly, it's similar to the advertisers purchasing my face and popularity.

What I shot would eventually air for a brief time, and once the contract ends, they’d likely replace me with another celebrity.

“Thank you for your hard work!”

The shoot wrapped up quickly.

Seeing how efficiently the shoot finished compared to the paycheck made me understand why celebrities shoot so many ads.

“Here! Take this with you.”

As I left, the staff from the company gave me their products as a formality prior to heading off.

This was just a fraction, and they mentioned they’d send more home.

“Thank you.”

I heard I’d be receiving quite a lot in sponsorship items, so I’d be worry-free about cosmetics for a while.

With the shoot completed, I hopped back into the car to head home.

I took a picture with the cosmetics clearly visible from the backseat of the car Park Kang-seok was driving.

Just posting this picture on my social media will complete my contract’s requirements.

I uploaded the photo to my Instagram, where I have noticeably more followers now, and leaned back against the car’s seat.

“So that’s it for today, right?”

“Yes, it wrapped up quickly.”

I gazed out the window.

After going to Gangnam for the makeup and shoot, it was still early afternoon.

“By the way.”

During filming for the drama, it was quite exhausting.

Now that I've gained some fame, the fruits seem so sweet.

“…This is delightful.”

“Pardon?”

“Oh, nothing.”

It’s so sweet I worry it might rot my teeth.

I guess this is probably a fleeting moment of sweetness, so I should be cautious not to indulge too deeply—thinking that as I made my way home.
