Chapter 316

The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide

Chapter 300: Trying Out My Powers

Two days passed, and once again, I was escorted by Wilhelm to the castle where Bagira was said to be.

“Yo. Lewis. It’s been two days.”

“Yeah. So? What in the world is going on here?”

Upon entering Bagira’s castle, I was led to the reception room by Wilhelm, and there, right in front of me, was Bagira in a daring outfit with her chest exposed, and for some reason, Fon was kneeling with his mouth covered in cloth.

“That’s a gift from me. You can do whatever you want with it.”

“No, I really don’t want it.”

“Don’t say that. Just consider it a celebration for you successfully obtaining your powers. If you really don’t want it, I guess I’ll have to dispose of it myself.”

“Guh?!”

Fon seemed to respond to Bagira’s words about disposal, bowing his head to me in a plea, but the anger and hostility in his eyes showed he wasn’t at all submitting.

“Hmph. So even in this situation, you can show such eyes. Are you a fool who doesn’t understand the situation, or just an idiot who’s brazenly defiant? Either way, a fool is still a fool.”

“So? What now?”

“Hmm. Let’s see…”

While looking down at the glaring Fon, an idea popped into my head about how to make use of him.

“I’ve got a good idea. I think I’ll try that out.”

“When you say ‘that,’ are you talking about your powers?”

“That’s right.”

Saying that, I unleashed a deep black magic power, different from my usual silvery one, and slowly enveloped Fon with it.

“Hmm?! Hmnnnn!!!”

The moment Fon saw the pitch-black magic coiling around him, he seemed to feel something and began to panic with fear in his eyes, but it was a little too late for that expression.

“If you had just knelt from the start, this wouldn’t be happening. It’s your silly pride that makes you glare at me. So, I’m going to take that pride and any unnecessary thoughts away from you. Just become a puppet who obediently does what you’re told. Gluttony’s power, ‘Devouring Void.’”

As I murmured this, the magic binding Fon wrapped around him as if to swallow him whole, and after a while, Fon, now with vacant eyes, remained motionless, sitting on the floor just as before.

“Is it over?”

“Yeah. Now, I just need to check if it worked. Fon, put your head on the ground.”

Fon nodded slightly at my voice, then slowly placed his hands on the floor, bowing his head as if rubbing his forehead against it.

“It looks like I successfully took his ego.”

“Haha. This Gluttony power is incredible; I’ve never seen anything like it before.”

“I think so too. The ability to steal someone’s ego or consciousness is just broken.”

“Yeah, I know about other powers too, but yours is pretty ruthless. Mine’s starting to feel weak in comparison.”

“I think yours is pretty crazy too. By the way, what abilities do the other powers have?”

“Ah, well…”

“Bagira-sama, I apologize for interrupting your conversation, but it’s almost time to depart.”

“Ah, got it. Lewis, I’ll tell you more about the abilities of those folks while I introduce you to them later.”

“Roger that. Oh, and Fon, you stay in that state and wait.”

I actually wanted information in advance just in case, but since there’s no time, I gave Fon some random instructions and decided to follow Bagira’s lead.

“So? Where are we headed now?”

“To the Demon King’s castle located in the center of each district. We hold an annual gathering there for reporting.”

“Once a year? So, this just happens to be that one time?”

“No. That one is always held around the end of the year, but this time it’s an emergency gathering. Usually, we are untouchable, but in cases of urgent events or matters, someone will host it and gather representatives from each district. Well, it’s really only every now and then.”

“I see.”

“We’ve arrived. From here, we head to the Demon King’s castle.”

As Bagira said this, I looked ahead and saw a door heavily guarded by barrier magic, and inside, a gigantic magic circle was inscribed on the floor.

“Is this… a transfer magic circle?”

“Correct. The current Demon King’s castle has been sealed since the first power holder split up the districts, and it is protected by a powerful barrier until the rightful master returns. So, the only way to get in and out is through this magic circle.”

“Hmph. It’s almost like a dungeon.”

While the transfer magic circle made it feel like a dungeon, according to Bagira and Wilhelm, the Demon King’s castle was artificially constructed, so it couldn’t really be called a dungeon.

“Come on, let’s go.”

“Okay.”

I had been staring at the magic circle for a while, but when Bagira lightly tapped my shoulder, I followed him into the magic circle.

Then, after Wilhelm, who entered last, poured his magic power into the circle, we vanished from that spot, heading toward the Demon King’s castle.

“Ugh, transfer magic never gets easier, no matter how many times I do it.”

“Is that so? I’m used to it since I’ve experienced it many times.”

Having arrived at the Demon King’s castle via the transfer magic circle, we teased Bagira, who looked a bit queasy, while walking down an empty hallway, led by Wilhelm.

“Are you throwing shade at me?”

“Haha. Maybe. I just stated the facts.”

“Tch. Seriously, can you not keep your mouth shut? Can’t we just have a normal conversation?”

“I can, but strangely enough, when I look at you, I just want to tease you. I wonder why?”

“I wouldn’t know, would I?”

It’s strange, but when talking to someone intellectual and composed like Sharueina, those emotions don’t really come up, while with a friendly and expressive type like Bagira, it’s amusing to see the reactions, making me want to tease him.

“You should work on that personality of yours.”

“That’s impossible. My personality became like this after being broken and rebuilt several times. There’s no going back or fixing it now.”

“What kind of experiences made you like that?”

“Well, I can only say they weren’t pleasant experiences.”

“I see.”

“Both of you, we have arrived.”

During our light banter, it seemed we had reached the room where the gathering would be held. Wilhelm, who had been leading the way, opened the door for us, but it was magically sealed, preventing us from seeing inside.

“Lewis. Here’s some advice from me: never trust the ones inside.”

“Does that include you too?”

“Haha. We’re supposed to be in a partnership, right? Just trust me a little. You don’t have to believe anyone else.”

“Yeah, that’s the plan, so you can relax. I’ve been skeptical of everyone except myself from the start.”

“Ah. That’s good.”

Bagira smiled satisfyingly at my response before stepping through the door first.

“Well then. I hope this doesn’t turn into a hassle.”

From past experience, new members often get bullied by old-timers, so it’s possible that I might face something similar this time too.

“Well, if that happens, I’ll just take them all down.”

But even if that were to happen, just like before, I could take out any enemies without mercy, so there’s no need to overthink it now.

“Well then, let’s go.”

I murmured that last thought, my heart racing with anticipation of the new encounters waiting beyond the door, and I walked slowly towards it.
