Chapter 305
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 289: Satisfied
“Ahaha. Quite the crowd gathered, huh?”
We had been teleported to the square in the center of this town, where a large number of demons armed with weapons were assembled.
“What’s going on?”
“Did that guy just suddenly appear?”
They looked bewildered by my sudden appearance, but soon gripped their weapons tightly, glaring at me with killing intent.
“Seriously. I haven’t done anything, yet here I am, being glared at with all this killing intent. At this point, I almost feel sorry for myself.”
“Humans are the enemy.”
“We will definitely kill you.”
“Haha. Rei and Mei are finally showing some good expressions. They usually have faces like dolls, so it was honestly boring. Well, Fon seems a bit lost though.”
Rei and Mei glared at me as if I were their parents’ enemy, but Fon, completely baffled by the unexpected teleportation and the gathering of armed people, was looking around in shock.
“Well, it’s true that Fon doesn’t seem the type to lie, and she’s the straightforward type who shows her feelings easily. I think your decision not to tell her your plan was the right one. Still, you guys had no idea that I was good with magic, so trying to deceive me was impossible.”
“When did you notice?”
“Let’s see. It was probably the morning of the second day when Rei was shopping and telling the townspeople information about me?”
“So, you knew from the very beginning…”
To summarize the current situation, the people here had gathered after receiving information about me from Rei and Mei.
When they went to the town to buy ingredients, familiar demons instructed them to monitor me and report back, which led them to voluntarily participate in a plan to kill me.
From the moment I entered this town, I noticed the killing intent directed at me, so I used detection magic to examine the entire area.
During that time, I also monitored Fon, Rei, and Mei’s movements in reverse and eavesdropped on their conversations using wind magic, which allowed me to learn about the plan in advance.
“Listening to your conversation was entertaining, you know? You called me foolish and insensitive, thinking I’d be easy to kill because I have no combat abilities.”
“Ugh…”
“So, you thought since I wouldn’t notice if you poisoned me, you’d put just enough poison in tonight’s meal so I wouldn’t die immediately, then take me out of the mansion to toy with me before killing me? You even prepared healing potions to make sure I wouldn’t die right away—what a considerate touch.”
If an ordinary person were to learn of such a plan to kill them, they’d be terrified and try to flee immediately, but sadly, I’m not that person.
Rather, I’d gladly place myself into that situation, and honestly, I’d even jump into it myself.
Because, you know, it’s just more entertaining that way.
“Well, I can understand how you demons feel about hating humans. Just because we look a bit different, we’re called monsters and slaughtered, putting you on the brink of extinction. That’s your ancestors, right?”
The demon tribe originally existed in a country across the sea to the east.
However, they were persecuted as monsters by humans due to their horns, inhuman physical abilities, and even special abilities, leading to demon hunts.
The demon tribe resisted, but due to their small numbers and the fact that we’re sending magicians from our continent to assist the people in the eastern country, they quickly faced the threat of extinction.
Those demons who managed to sneak onto a ship and escape to the Demon Domain are their ancestors and the reason demons exist there.
“How do you know all this?”
“I have a hobby of reading. A while back, while going through various books, I happened to read some material that summarized the demon tribe. Thanks to that, I could learn about you.”
In this world, there are always those oddballs.
The material I just mentioned was written by one such oddball who found the horns of demons fascinating, prompting their research.
In the past, I had pored over every book and paper available, even odd novels, in search of ways to die, which included that material on demons.
“Now then. I’ve rambled on long enough, but honestly, the reason you’re here or the story behind it doesn’t matter to me. However, considering you’re all trying to bully and kill the weak, harmless me with such a large group, retaliating must be self-defense, right?”
As I said this with a sadistic smile, I snapped my fingers, trapping all 200 demons present here in a barrier.
“This is a barrier?”
“Human, what are you thinking? You won’t be able to escape like this.”
“You wanted us to kill you quickly or something? You willingly trapped yourself here with us?”
They mocked me, laughing as if I were the prey stepping into their mouth, but I couldn’t help but laugh too.
“Ahhahaha! Escape? Me? No way!”
“What the… all of a sudden…”
“Want me to kill you quickly? I’ve been thinking that the whole time. But you all aren’t capable of killing me. So instead, you can die.”
“What are you—…guh!”
The man at the front seemed to recognize my abnormality and tried to say something, but before he could, I pierced my hand through his neck.
“Orolon!? You bastard!!”
With one of their comrades killed right before their eyes, a nearby man jumped in, brandishing a spear with a furious expression.
“Too slow.”
“Eh…?”
But no matter how physically capable they may be, to someone like me who has fought through countless lethal situations, their movements looked slow and I easily decapitated him with my hand blade.
“Haha. I’m in a good mood today. I’ll entertain you all until every last one of you is dead.”
As I said this, blood splattering and dyeing my clothes red, they finally seemed to grasp what they had gotten themselves into, slowly retreating.
“You fools. You can’t escape from here anymore, can you? So, I think it’d be better to try and kill me instead of running away.”
“Tch.”
“Didn’t you intend to do this from the start? Don’t try to escape now. Or do you think you can get away with it if you apologize?”
“Who would bow their head to a human!”
“Kuhaha! Right?! That’s more like it! So come on… stop running and face me!”
As I said that with a murderous intent in my final words, they all gripped their weapons with a determined expression.
“Damn it! Everyone, let’s go!”
“Yeah!!”
And so, they charged at me from all directions with a desperate resolve, but I dodged all their attacks with my martial arts, skillfully weaving through.
Despite their frantic attempts to attack, they couldn’t even scratch me, while my strikes dwindled their numbers.
I made them turn on one another with attacks, shredded their organs with pressure blows, and cut off legs to use them as shields.
I utilized whatever I could, whether it was their comrades or even their dead bodies’ bones.
I used the environment, the situation, and even their movements to my advantage.
As I swung my arm down, a crimson waterfall flowed, and as I swept my arm sideways, a red rain fell.
“Kuhaha! Come on! Entertain me more!”
Drenched in their blood, even my silver hair turned crimson as I danced while killing my enemies.
“There’s no way we can win against…”
In the first ten minutes of the battle, as ten of their comrades fell, they rushed in blindly with faces full of hatred.
When fifty of their comrades died, they finally began to show looks of confusion as they grasped the situation.
By the time the hundredth had died, the initial fighting spirit vanished from their faces, replaced by fear.
And as the numbers fell below fifty, their faces showed nothing but despair, with the survivors desperately pounding the barrier, trying to escape.
“What the hell is that monster?!”
“I don’t want to die!”
“Someone help me!!”
“Hah. You guys can’t break this barrier at your level, so just give up.”
I don’t care how they perceive my current form, that’s inconsequential now.
Because I feel absolutely fantastic, utterly entertained, and the more I kill, the more I feel something inside me being fulfilled.
“Ah, right! I wanted to ask you something, but I totally forgot.”
As I thought about taking care of the remaining demons, I suddenly remembered what I intended to ask initially, and turned my gaze toward Fon, Rei, and Mei, all surrounded by numerous bodies of their kin in the center of the barrier.
“Hey. I want to ask you something…”
Rei and Mei trembled, tears streaming down their faces, either from this situation or from the sight of me drenched in blood, while Fon was shaking, clutching her head a little farther away.
“Are any of your families among these? If they are, I’ll spare them. It’s a gift for providing such an enjoyable surprise. But if they’re already dead, there’s nothing I can do; you’ll just have to blame your own stupidity.”
It’s a bit late in the game to be saying this, but I was inclined to spare them if their families were present, considering the kindness they’ve shown me since they arrived.
“N-no…”
“They aren’t here…”
“I see. Then, I can go ahead without holding back.”
I hadn’t been holding back in the first place, but with that response, I wouldn’t have to worry about being resented later.
Even if I were resented, it was they who conspired with the townsfolk, so if they attacked me, I could just send them straight to their comrades without mercy.
Fon seemed too terrified to voice anything, but if her parents died, that was no fault of mine, so I didn’t need to feel bad.
“Alright then. Time to finish off the rest… huh?”
Just as I was about to unreservedly eliminate everyone, suddenly, the barrier I had set up was shattered from the outside, and I sensed someone approaching.
“Oh boy, I’ve killed so many. Looks like the number of kin we gained is dropping again.”
Those words sounded almost sorrowful, mourning the loss of allies, but there was no hint of sadness in the speaker’s tone; it felt utterly devoid of emotion, merely stating the fact that we had lost kin.
I turned my face toward the voice that sounded so indifferent, and there stood a single demon.
