Chapter 281: The One Who Looks Good in Earrings

By the time we returned to the Imperial Capital, the sun had set, and the sky was beautifully tinged with deep blue.

Under that sky, instead of heading back to the dormitory, we walked through the town just like in the morning, making our way straight to our destination.

“Eir, where are we headed? Shouldn’t we be going back to the dorm soon?”

Originally, I had planned to return to the dorm around evening, so I had submitted a form indicating that time.

Indeed. The store we entered was, as Shuvina said, selling accessories. The interior was filled with glass cases showcasing high-priced necklaces and rings.

“Welcome! What kind of items are you looking for today?”

“Well, first, we need a private room. Also, bring me a selection of earrings, piercings, and bracelets.”

“I-I understand.”

Once the clerk confirmed the emblem of the House of Valentine I showed, she instructed other staff to bring the accessories and led us to a private room.

“Please wait a moment.”

After placing tea for two on the table, the clerk left. It seemed Shuvina finally caught up with the situation, her voice slightly trembling as she spoke to me.

“Um, Eir, what exactly is going on here?”

“What do you mean? We came to buy accessories.”

“Then, couldn’t it have waited until another day? Also, you’re not really the type to wear accessories, right?”

“Well, that’s true. If I were to wear something, it would only be the bare necessities, and I don’t really need them right now. But you’re fundamentally mistaken here.”

“The accessories we came to buy today are not for me, but for you.”

“I said we came to buy accessories for you today.”

That was true. As Shuvina said, what she asked for as a reward was simply to spend a day together, wanting nothing more.

However, due to unexpected events, I ended up dragging her into a hassle, and this felt no different from usual, making it not quite worthy of being called a reward.

“Well, it’s just my whim. Plus, I figured if I do something nice for you, you’ll be more likely to stick around again.”

Shuvina said that with a cheerful smile, and soon after, several clerks entered the room carrying the requested accessories.

“Thank you for waiting. We’ve brought a selection of earrings, piercings, and bracelets.”

“Thanks.”

I said a quick thank you to the clerk and turned my attention to the accessories laid out in front of me, carefully browsing to find what met our needs.

“Shuvina.”

“What is it?”

“Just to confirm, are earrings okay for you?”

“If so, then I don’t mind at all. I have always wanted to wear some and I’d be happy to receive them from you.”

“Got it. Then I’ll take this pair of earrings with peridot gems, along with a bracelet featuring the same gemstones. Please bill it to the House of Valentine.”

“Understood.”

“And I’ll take these right away, so clear away the other items and leave us alone for a bit.”

Once I issued my last instruction, the clerk cleared away everything else, leaving just the two of us in the room.

“So? Are you going to pierce my ears?”

“I could do that, but first, just hold on a moment.”

I said as I picked up the earrings and began to infuse my magic power into them slowly, etching spells into the peridot jewels.

Once I completed infusing the earrings, I did the same for the bracelet, then used space magic to shrink the bracelet.

“It’s done.”

“This has magic added to it?”

“Correct. The earrings have spells for enhanced dynamic vision, improved hearing, and mental stability.”

“Those are for me?”

“Well, more like for your future.”

The three spells I added to the earrings were essential for Shuvina, who primarily wielded a bow, and they would definitely aid her in the future.

I chose earrings because they would make better contact with her skin, enhancing the conduit efficiency of my magic. These earrings were truly a product crafted just for Shuvina.

“What about this bracelet?”

“This has spells to store magic using space magic and spells to reduce magic consumption, so hand it over to Dōna. By pre-storing natural magic in this bracelet, she can maintain her form without using up your magic, and it should help reduce the magic cost for keeping her summoned just by wearing it.”

“Going out of your way for Dōna…”

“She helped out a lot this time. So, make sure to thank her properly.”

“Understood.”

Since Dōna had assisted me numerous times before, I had always wanted to repay her.

And this was the perfect timing, so I decided to prepare a present for her along with Shuvina.

“By the way, Lewis seems unusually good with girls. Fiera said you escorted her on your date, and Sonia bragged about how amazing you were.”

“Huh? Well, I don’t know. I just did it normally.”

“If this is normal for you, you might be a natural flirt.”

“How rude. Well, to some extent, I’ve had many chances to go out with my mother. Maybe that’s why.”

“Well then, shall we head home?”

After wrapping up here, I stood up ready to leave, taking Shuvina’s hand and heading out of the shop.

“Wait a second.”

“Huh?”

However, just as I was about to start walking toward the academy, Shuvina unexpectedly stopped me by holding my hand.

“What’s up?”

“If you use teleportation magic, we can return to the dorm unnoticed, right?”

“Yeah, we can, but is there something else?”

“I’m hungry.”

“Huh?”

“I’m hungry. So, let’s have one last meal together.”

“Ah, what about my right to refuse?”

“Of course, that’s nonexistent.”

Sigh, typical.

Based on my experiences, everyone around me sticks to what they say, so if Shuvina made that decision, I had no right to refuse unless there was a very good reason.

Plus, since this included a reward for her, there was no way I could say no.

“Alright, then I’ll take you to a place that serves large, delicious meals that you’ll love.”

“You’re adding unnecessary commentary, but I’m looking forward to it. Let’s hurry.”

With that, Shuvina tugged my hand harder, refusing to let go, and we ended up walking hand in hand until we arrived at the restaurant.

In that time, it goes without saying that Shuvina looked incredibly happy.
