Chapter 282
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 270: A Promise
Three days had passed since the showdown with the Academy Director.
We were currently walking through the town, heading to the restaurant we had reserved to meet Rick and the others.
“By the way, Lewis really got scolded by Teacher Riel.”
“Of course! He ended up in tatters after a match he didn’t even have to fight! But hey, thanks to that, we only had to chat for a bit.”
“Quit digging up old stories. It’s a hassle.”
“Hmph. Your intimidating demeanor doesn’t frighten me. Plus, we were worried too, so you should just accept it.”
As Shuvina and Sonia mentioned, after my discussion with the Academy Director, I was called out by Lime next.
And where was I called? Not some separate room, but right at the front of the classroom, where I stood as she scolded me in front of all my classmates.
I did ask her to change the location, but Lime’s fury just escalated, and in the end, I was reprimanded right up until the next class started.
Despite having only said the day before I’d listen, getting blasted like that was simply baffling.
Also, just like when I fought the assassin at the Magic Academy, Sonia gets worried and angry whenever I’m in rough shape.
The result was Sonia’s earlier words.
“Everyone, let’s end this conversation here. Today, thanks to Rick’s invitation, we have the chance to join in, so let’s make the most of it and have fun!”
“That’s right. As Iris says, it wouldn’t be polite to greet Rick like this.”
“Yeah. El and Sonia, you both need to calm down.”
Just as the mood started to sour a bit, Iris advised me and Sonia to settle down, and we merely exchanged glances before turning back to the front—no further words were needed between us.
Because I knew Sonia was worried out of concern, and Sonia understood that no matter what she said, it wouldn’t change the way I live my life.
Also, it’s worth mentioning that besides Fiera and me, Iris, Shuvina, Sonia, and Sephiria were invited to this meal with Rick and the others.
Apparently, Sonia wanted to meet Iris, and Rick’s group kindly extended the invitation.
By the way, Miria and Sharueina are staying at the Academy because they don’t know Rick and the others and have things to do.
“By the way, this is amazing. Everyone parts ways for us as we walk.”
“Yeah. It’s so easy to walk.”
As Iris said, since we entered town, the people around us parted left and right as if it was the most natural thing, allowing us to walk boldly down the middle.
With me in the lead, Fiera and Iris on either side, followed by Sonia and Shuvina, and Sephiria at the back, everyone looked way too good.
As a result, people naturally gave way, overwhelmed by their stunning appearances.
“Wait a minute!”
“Ugh. Here we go again.”
Well, it seems there are always clueless folks around, as three guys stepped forward to block our path.
“Hey. You…”
“I get it. You want the girls, right?”
“Huh? What the…”
“Don’t waste your breath with that cocky attitude. Just get on with it.”
“You punks! We—”
“I don’t know who you are, and knowing a guy I just met would be gross. I’m not interested in men.”
These types always say the same things, so I cut them off before they could finish, leaving them in disbelief.
“Hey, is that enough? People are waiting here.”
“Huh? Uh, um—no! We want the girls!”
“Yeah, coming at me with a weak voice like that isn’t going to work.”
“Don’t underestimate me, brat! Just because we’re students of Suzette Imperial Academy doesn’t mean you can act like this!”
We were all wearing our academy uniforms today as that was a rule by the school, requiring us to don them when going out.
Generally, wearing the uniform means that people won’t want to mess with us since the academy stands behind us, but these idiots either didn’t get that or felt brave.
“This is a hassle. Fine, I’ll let you choose. Who do you want?”
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“I said to ditch the girls, right? Pick one by one.”
“Hmph. To try and save your skin by sacrificing a girl—what a pathetic move. Alright, then I’ll take the silver-haired beastgirl next to you. I’m gonna enjoy that body thoroughly.”
“I’ll take the red-purple-haired girl behind you. That haughty expression is so tempting. I want to ruin that face.”
“Then I’ll take the pink-haired sister. I sure am looking forward to what a sister devoted to God is like.”
The men leered and made no effort to hide their hidden desires as they pointed at Fiera, Sonia, and Sephiria, already imagining what they’d do.
“Oh? You guys are now on the chopping block. Have fun.”
“Yeah. Understood.”
“Perfect timing! I wanted to blow off some steam!”
“Of course.”
The three girls who were chosen moved towards their captors without showing fear, and the men, excited by their beauty, started breathing heavily.
“Heh. You guys sure had bad luck.”
“To think you’d be sold out to us because of that cowardly, spineless guy.”
“But hey, you can be happy, right? We’ve got more capability than that kid. We’ll take care of you until the end…”
The men, no longer even trying to hide their intentions, approached the girls with heavy breath, but they were the ones who moved first.
“Shut up.”
“Ugh!?”
“Your breath stinks, so stop talking.”
“Bluh!?”
“No further approaching is allowed.”
“Ugh!!!”
First, Fiera circled behind the guy who picked her, mercilessly smashing his head into the ground to knock him out. Simultaneously, Sonia used her dark magic to grab the feet of the guy trying to get close and tripped him, restraining him before sealing his mouth.
Finally, Sephiria crushed the guy at the back with her magic, leading all of them to end up sprawled on the ground.
“What the heck! What’s going on?!”
“Haha. You’re lucky to get to play around. Isn’t this just what you wanted?”
As I said this, I walked up to the still-conscious guy Sephiria had subdued and looked down at him.
“Hey! Aren’t you embarrassed to be hiding behind a girl!”
“Huh? Hiding? What kind of nonsense are you talking about?”
He seemed unable to grasp the situation and glared at me as he shouted, but I slowly raised my foot and brought it down forcefully near his nose.
Clang!!!
“Hyah!?”
With that, a huge crack formed in the ground, and the guy’s face shifted from cocky to one filled with fear.
“You’re not hiding; you just got lucky. If I had handled you, your head would have exploded by now. But since I’m supposed to meet friends later, I can’t have blood on my hands. So this is my mercy. Get it?”
“Y-yes… thank you.”
“Good. Let’s go. I’ve got to get there on time.”
“Yeah. Understood.”
Seeing the fear painted all over his face, I fixed the ground with earth magic and led Fiera and the others away from the scene.
Fortunately, perhaps due to their fear, nobody bothered us afterward.
“Welcome!”
Arriving at the restaurant on time, we were guided by the staff to the reserved second-floor room.
“Oh, you finally made it!”
“Sorry, did we keep you waiting?”
When we entered the room, Rick and the others were already there, waiting for us.
“No, we only just arrived.”
“Good to hear.”
We exchanged light greetings and took our seats, ordering drinks and the recommended dishes while we waited for our food to arrive.
“Seriously, I can’t believe we could reserve a private room at a regular tavern. The imperial capital is incredible!”
“Right? I’m amazed too!”
“Well, to be honest, I wanted to drink in a regular seat, but with so many people and the gorgeous looks of Fiera and the others, it’d be a waste if the atmosphere got ruined by some idiots.”
“Haha. That’s very true.”
If it had been just a few of us, we planned to drink in a regular seat downstairs like before, but since Iris and the others were invited as well this time around, we reserved a private room on the second floor due to their numbers.
After waiting for a while, the ordered food and drinks arrived, and we finally prepared to start the meal.
“Then, here’s to our reunion with Eir and the new encounters with Iris and the others! Cheers!”
“Cheers!”
And so, after all that, our promised meal, made about two and a half years ago, began with Rick’s shout.
