Chapter 254

The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide

Intermission: Fifth Loop

“Huh?! Hah, hah…”

When Luis opened his eyes, he found himself in his familiar room in the House of Valentine, lying on a fluffy bed that hadn’t existed in the dungeon.

“I’m back… again…”

By the time it was the fifth time, Luis could easily understand that he had returned to the past, and unlike before, he didn’t panic.

“Lord Luis, may I come in?”

“Ah.”

After a while of waking up, Miria opened the door and entered, coming over to Luis as usual.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning.”

Standing next to Luis, Miria had gentle eyes that differed from the last time he saw her, and he felt no hatred or revenge in her gaze.

“I’m sorry, Miria.”

“Eh?”

“I did terrible things to you. I want to apologize.”

“Y-yes…”

Suddenly being apologized to by Luis left Miria confused, but seeing him bow his head and sincerely apologize, she responded as if she was somewhat convinced.

(Even if it was for my own satisfaction, I always wanted to apologize to her.)

In his previous life, he never had a chance to apologize to her until the end, and more importantly, he felt he didn’t have the right to apologize.

Even so, Luis always wanted to express his apologies for that time, and until his last moments, he continued to apologize to Miria.

And if there was a next time, he had decided in his heart to apologize to her first.

“Today was the meeting with my fiancée, right? I’m sorry, but please tell my father and the others that I can’t attend because I’m not feeling well.”

“Eh? But…”

“I’m sorry. However, I really can’t make it.”

“…Understood.”

Miria hesitated for a moment, but seeing the serious expression on Luis’s face, she reluctantly nodded at his request.

“Thank you. Also, please make sure no one enters my room today. I’m too unwell to see anyone.”

“Yes.”

Then, after Miria left the room, Luis got out of bed and walked towards his desk.

“I don’t know why I keep rewinding after death, but that guy is always at the center of it. If running away and fighting won’t work, should I just kill him?”

Luis wrote everything he could remember from his past four lives on paper, and at the center was always a man named Shudo, around whom Luis’s deathly fate revolved.

“Haha. He’s like the protagonist of a story. Then I must be the villain, huh?”

He wrote down the events involving him from what he could remember, and while Shudo walked the shining path of a hero, he walked the dark road of bullying his fiancée, plotting a coup, and engaging in crime, just like the heroes and villains from stories.

“At least if he were the Demon King, I might stand a chance against him, but it seems there’s a real Demon King out there too. I’m at best the henchman that shows up on the hero’s journey.”

It was quite a comical role, but since it was reality, Luis resigned himself to it and pondered how this side character could kill the hero.

“Why do I always have to be the one to get killed, anyway? Even when I don’t have a direct connection, they still come to kill me. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s starting to really tick me off.”

In the first life, he was defeated in a duel with Shudo, but from then on, there had been no direct interactions between them, and naturally, Luis couldn’t understand why he had to be killed.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became at the absurdity of it, and he began to consider the idea of killing Shudo before being killed himself.

“However, I have no idea what would happen if I struck first. I should at least acquire the minimum amount of power and hire an assassin for the killing.”

If he acted recklessly, anything could happen, and more than anything, Luis, who had no assassination skills, being caught would lead to serious troubles, so this time he decided to hire an assassin.

Moreover, he took extra precautions, deciding the time for the assassination would be before Shudo awakened as the Hero, and then he meticulously plotted the plan.

So, without anyone noticing, while selecting the assassination organization and planning Shudo’s assassination, Luis also continued his training in swordsmanship and magic to protect himself.

When the time came for him to attend the academy again, this time, Luis found himself closer to Shudo.

Of course, he didn’t speak to him or become friendly, but it was to observe Shudo’s movements and relay the gathered information to the assassination organization.

One day, Miria returned late from the town, having gone out in the afternoon, and came back just before curfew.

“What’s wrong, Miria? Did something happen?”

“N-no. Nothing happened.”

“Is that so…”

Seeing Miria’s flustered reaction, Luis found it strange, but the past incidents still weighed on him, so he couldn’t ask more, and he never inquired about that day afterward.

Little did he know, that would be the turning point of his fifth loop.

Three months had passed since Luis enrolled in the academy, and summer break was just around the corner.

On the night when Luis was about to give orders to the assassins to carry out the plan he had been working on,

He took a sip of the tea brewed by Miria, and suddenly, a burning pain gripped his throat, causing him to collapse on the floor, spilling out thick, black blood.

“Cough. This… is…”

Understanding that he had been poisoned, Luis turned his gaze to look up at Miria nearby; she was trembling with tears in her blue face.

“I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry…”

As he watched Miria continue to apologize repeatedly, Luis sensed the situation, but strangely, he felt no anger or hatred towards her. Instead, he felt somewhat refreshed.

(Haha. Well, if I’m to be killed by Miria, then that’s that.)

Even though he had done nothing to this life’s Miria, the memories of his past life had haunted him, and perhaps in some corner of his heart, he had wished to be killed by her.

So now, even after being poisoned by her, he could still smile.

Thus, Luis was poisoned by Miria and closed the curtain on his fifth life without ever knowing why he was killed.

Unbeknownst to Luis, on that day when Miria returned late, she had been almost kidnapped by a thug in the town.

Though she was just a maid, she wore a very high-quality maid uniform, which had drawn the attention of the thugs. That day, she was attacked by them.

Dragged into an alley, Miria was almost stripped of her clothes, but a young man who noticed the moment she was kidnapped chased after them and saved her just in time.

While protecting Miria, the young man fought off the thugs, and it seemed like a scene from a story where a hero saves a princess, causing Miria’s heart to be stolen by him.

However, after handing over the thugs to the guards, the young man left without introducing himself, entrusting Miria to the guards as well.

Miria regretted not being able to ask for his name, but a few days later, she had a fateful reunion with that young man at the academy.

Having expressed her gratitude to him while introducing herself, he smiled kindly and revealed his name.

Shudo…

Afterward, Miria and Shudo arranged to meet whenever they could, deepening their bond.

One day, while cleaning Luis’s room, Miria happened to come across a document Luis had been hiding and felt compelled to read it.

“This is…”

The document detailed the assassination request on Shudo, a commoner, and meticulously outlined his movements.

“Why does Lord Luis want to…?”

Though she couldn’t understand the reason, one thought floated into Miria’s heart.

“I must protect him. This time, I will protect him!”

No matter what it took, she wanted to protect Shudo, who had saved her, and who she now loved dearly and treasured more than anyone.

Miria felt a sense of responsibility akin to a mission, and that very day, she took action.

Wearing a hood to hide her face, Miria made her way through the alleys to the criminal organization, where she bought poison and returned to the dorm.

Then, she added an entire vial of poison to the tea she had been asked to brew for Luis, bringing it to him.

Since it was a lethal poison that would kill with just a drop, Luis suffered extreme vomiting and pain, but the sheer amount ensured he wouldn’t suffer for long before passing away.

“Ah, huh? What am I…?”

Luis died, and as he did, Miria, who had been apologizing just moments ago, looked around as if she didn’t understand the situation and noticed Luis collapsed on the floor.

“L-Luis-sama! Are you okay?!”

In a panic, Miria touched Luis, but there was no pulse, and his body was rapidly cooling down.

“N-no way…”

In the end, Miria couldn’t comprehend the situation until the end, standing frozen in place, only able to watch Luis grow colder.

And so, for now, the past of the fourth and fifth loops comes to an end.

Who said it would be one or two chapters?!

It turned into three, after all!

I sincerely apologize for it becoming three chapters.

While writing the fourth loop, I got a little carried away!

I never thought it would be this long.

But on the bright side, I’m satisfied with the content I was able to finish.

Now, about the next update, I’d like to do a character introduction next.

A little rest, I suppose!

After that, I’ll return to the main story, so I’d be happy if you could read it!

I plan to start the new chapter on Thursday!

Well then, thank you for your continued support of this work!
