Chapter 249

The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide

Chapter 242: Let’s Get Started Quickly

“What are those kids?”

“Did they just break through the gate and come in?”

“Wait, didn’t something just pass right in front of us?”

The streets leading to the Clan Kingdom’s royal castle were quite lively during the day, and the people near the gate were caught off-guard by the sudden destruction of the gate and the entrance of Fiera and her companions. They couldn’t run away or even try to stop them.

All they could do was react to Fiera’s overwhelming presence, like that of a predator, and unconsciously step aside to let them through.

“There are more people here than I expected.”

“Yeah. If they’re this densely packed, they might get caught up in the battle later.”

“Don’t worry. With my magic, there won’t be any damage to the people or buildings. So, everyone just focus on what you need to do.”

“Hehe. It’s reassuring to hear the Saintess say that. Then I suppose I should get pumped up for the first time in a while.”

“Right. We can go all out.”

With Sephiria saying she’d handle the city’s defense, Fiera and Sonia grinned fiercely, ready to unleash their full power.

“I’ll act as Sephiria’s guard, so you two go have fun.”

“Huh? Don’t you want to play, Shuvina?”

“I’m not really fond of fighting like you two. Besides, someone needs to protect Sephiria. If we’re caught off guard, it could be a big deal. We can be revived if we die, but if she dies, it’s game over for her.”

“True enough. Then, in that case, we’ll take you up on your offer and have our fun without you.”

“Okay. Just, since I’m not there, I’m counting on you to look after Dōna.”

“Ta-da! It’s Dōna-chan!”

As Shuvina summoned Dōna, she appeared with a cheerful voice and a beaming smile, flying around happily as if she had known all along that she’d get to play.

“Dōna, nice to meet you!”

“Let’s have fun together!”

“Yay! Let’s play a lot!”

It seemed that for Fiera and her companions, the upcoming battle was already viewed as a game, and the three of them started chatting excitedly about what they would do first.

Before they knew it, they arrived in front of the royal castle, where they were greeted by a large number of knights who were armed and waiting at the castle gates.

“What an enthusiastic welcome we have here.”

“Right. The more, the merrier.”

“Dōna is happy there are many enemies too!”

Despite standing before knights who were clearly on guard against them, Fiera and her friends nonchalantly expressed their excitement. Then, a man in particularly extravagant armor stepped forward and looked down at them with sharp eyes.

“It’s you lot. The bandits who dared to invade the Clan Kingdom. I am Sajibel Tūgnar, the leader of the Knight Order. It seems you’ve forcefully broken through the gates, but you won’t get any further from here.”

“Bandits? We are adventurers. Not thieves or pirates. And, for what it’s worth, there’s no ocean here.”

“YOU! Are you mocking us?! State your names!”

“I am Fiera Kirishbane, the fifth princess of the Beast Kingdom and an adventurer. I came to get revenge for what you did to your comrades a few weeks ago.”

“Huh? A princess of the Beast Kingdom?”

“Oh my. It’s too soon to be surprised. I am Sonia Scarlet, a descendant of the first sage of the Magic Kingdom and the daughter of the family currently running the Magic Kingdom.”

“Th-the Magic Kingdom…?”

“Just so you know, I’m Shuvina, a relative of the royal family of the Kingdom of God Tree. But I don’t have as grand a title as the other three, so don’t worry.”

“I am Sephiria Ishtalika, blessed as a Saintess of the Holy Kingdom. Please do remember my name.”

“Dōna is just Dōna!”

With this impressive lineup introducing themselves, even Sajibel, who had seemed so dignified just moments ago, was taken aback and rendered speechless.

“Hahaha. What a remarkable gathering we have here.”

Amidst this unexpected situation, a male voice called out from behind Sajibel, and an elderly man, a magician leaning on a staff, appeared.

“Captain Harlan, this isn’t a laughing matter. If those girls truly are royalty and their associates, our very existence and that of this kingdom could be in jeopardy.”

“Sajibel, calm yourself. It’s only natural you’d react that way if those ladies hold the titles they claim. However, conversely, it could also be seen as an opportunity.”

“An opportunity? How so?”

“Regarding the plan we’ve been discussing, there may have been concerns about the movements of neighboring countries, right?”

“That’s true, but…”

“Yet, right in front of us are the esteemed individuals from those neighboring countries. Moreover, the Beast Kingdom is situated near that nation, so we could earn some favor by dealing with them. They appear to be nothing more than children, around fifteen years old. There’s no reason for us to lose, is there?”

“I see. So that’s it.”

The plan Harlan referred to involved collaborating with Saramāju to wage war against the Empire, with the concerns arising from potential interventions by the Holy and Magic Kingdoms.

Thus, they had conceived the idea of capturing Sephiria and her companions to negotiate with those two nations to ensure they wouldn’t interfere with the war.

Additionally, since the Beast Kingdom was just a short distance away, capturing Fiera would allow them to make a similar agreement and strike a deal with Saramāju as well.

“Have the discussions finished? Then, let’s proceed quickly.”

“My apologies. It seems I’ve kept you waiting, ladies.”

“Right. If you feel bad about it, let’s get on with it. And do entertain us a little.”

“Hahaha. You are quite the bold one. Very well. Since I have kept you waiting, we shall play a little longer to make up for it.”

As Harlan and Sajibel began conversing among themselves, Fiera, who had been waiting, showed some displeasure. Harlan found her reaction amusing and chuckled.

“Sonia. I’ll take that magician.”

“Got it. Then I’ll take that knight captain.”

“Then! Dōna can take on the rest of the knights?”

“Yes. Dōna will handle all the rest!”

“Yay!!!”

And so, the much-anticipated battle of Fiera and her friends was finally set to begin, though Harlan and the others remained oblivious.

They didn’t realize that standing before them were not mere girls but extraordinary beings who had admired a monster named Lewis and had stepped into the realm of monsters themselves.

◇◇◇

Meanwhile, inside the Clan Kingdom’s castle.

As Fiera forcefully broke the gate and stepped into the royal capital, Kamael was reuniting with Mashuri, who had been acting separately.

“That was quite a sound.”

“Haha. Yeah, that’s probably the gate being destroyed.”

The sound of the gate being smashed had reached Kamael and the others inside the castle, meaning others in the castle heard it as well, causing a commotion throughout.

“I did say to go big, but isn’t this a bit much right from the start? Well, whatever. Thanks to this, we’ve got a pretty light workload now.”

Led by Mashuri, Kamael had made his way to the location where the evidence they were after was hidden, but as she said, there were many guards, making it difficult to steal without being noticed.

However, thanks to Fiera stirring up trouble so soon, the chaos in the castle increased, and several of those who were keeping watch were now diverted to deal with her, making it easier for Kamael to move around.

“Well then, let’s make this quick.”

Suppressing his presence to the utmost, Kamael moved to the room where the knights were gathering and used magic, causing black spikes to shoot up from the ground and impale all the knights present.

Their corpses sank into the ground as if being swallowed by something dark, leaving only Kamael behind as if no one had ever been there.

“Mashuri, it’s all good now.”

As Kamael called out, Mashuri appeared, looking shocked by how quick it all happened.

“Um, what was that magic just now?”

“It’s a secret. More importantly, let’s hurry up and retrieve the evidence. The kings might escape if we don’t.”

“Got it.”

Having been told it was a secret, Mashuri instinctively understood not to pry further and quickly shifted her focus to helping gather the evidence.

The evidence was secured with various magical traps and classic numbered locks, but Kamael easily disabled all of them, collecting all the hidden evidence.

“I could probably be a thief as well as an assassin.”

“Are you going to?”

“Hmm, I think I’ll pass. Even if I have the talent, an assassin is more suited to someone like me.”

“Is that so?”

“Well then. Let’s head to the next job.”

Having completed his first goal, Kamael moved silently towards his next objective, to meet the king and his family.
