Chapter 246
I messed up after drinking yesterday.
First, I had to clean up, so I stepped out of my room, lightly washed my face to wake myself up, and stumbled into the soundproof booth.
– “At this rate, we’re all gonna die…”
– “When’s it coming? When’s it coming? When’s it coming?”
– “It’s been 10 hours of broadcasting, lol.”
Looking at the chat, traces of yesterday’s chaos linger in the chilly dawn.
I can’t help but sigh thinking about it again.
I can’t believe I started the broadcast and just went to sleep.
If pro broadcaster Miro had been in her right mind, this would have been unimaginable.
“Ah, ah, I’m awake now.”
– “???”
– “Really??”
– “Low voice, huh?”
I cleared my hoarse voice and checked if any viewers were still around.
Surprisingly, it seemed like people were actually there.
“Yawn… You all didn’t sleep, huh?”
– “Nope, slept, lol.”
– “Just woke up.”
“Ah….”
Is it already morning?
No wonder, since I slept quite a long time, the viewers must have woken up too.
“Just wait a moment… I need something to drink for my hangover.”
Fortunately, the hangover wasn’t too bad compared to what I drank yesterday.
Was it because it was expensive wine?
…Now that I think about it, I do feel sorry.
I should probably call Ah-young or Hyeon-su later.
Everyone wanted to drink, but I ended up consuming it all.
They say money can’t buy friends, but… I should at least bring something similar.
From the vibes yesterday… they’re probably still snoozing, so I’ll call them after the broadcast, around the afternoon, and see if there’s anything to relieve my hangover in the living room.
Luckily, there was some soup left in the kitchen, which I assumed had been made for breakfast.
I poured some rice and soup into a suitably large bowl.
This should do it.
I was feeling a little peckish, so it was perfect.
I stealthily took the food from the kitchen and returned to my room.
“Ah, thank you for waiting.”
– “Yes.”
– “Where did you go?”
– “What did you bring?”
“I just brought some radish soup.”
By tomorrow, it’ll probably be rice cake soup.
After all, once today passes, it’s New Year’s.
[Thank you ㅇㅇ for the 1,000 won donation]
So why did you just abandon us yesterday??
“Ah, that…”
Honestly, I don’t even know what to say.
“I just got drunk and fell asleep.”
– “Lol.”
– “You fell asleep drunk, huh, lol.”
This is embarrassing.
– “So why were you drinking?”
– “You’re such a socialite, drinking and all.”
“It wasn’t anything special, I just went to a year-end party and got free drinks.”
– “What a crazy socialite.”
– “What’s a party where you drink that much?”
“I was the only one who drank a lot. The wine tasted so good that I kept drinking until I got kicked out.”
In summary, that’s about it, right?
The party probably continued after I left, anyway.
– “Hahahaha.”
– “You really are a nuisance.”
– “Why did you start the broadcast yesterday?”
“I came home drunk and forgot it was a break…”
Speaking of which, I’m naturally doing a morning broadcast right after waking up.
I guess this isn’t so bad.
And if I just turn it off right away, it’ll probably cause a fuss.
“Ah, I’m done eating. I’ll clean up a bit.”
The broadcast continued without anything special.
Rather than doing something in particular, I just kept it running.
Now that I’m full, I want to lie down with the mic and get comfy in bed.
“So what are you all doing now?”
– “Playing a game, yeah.”
– “Watching your broadcast.”
– “Not doing anything.”
“I see… Well, I’m not doing anything either.”
– “Do something, dammit.”
– “So what’s the plan for today??”
– “League of Legends? Are we going?”
Today, I feel more sluggish than usual, and I just don’t feel like doing anything.
It’s also awkward to just shut off the broadcast.
Should I just hold out until the countdown?
Less than twelve hours left now.
“It’s the last day of the year, so let’s just take it easy while broadcasting.”
– “You’ve been taking it easy anyway.”
– “How’s today any different from usual? (Seriously don’t know.)”
“Hey, today I’m really just going to relax.”
I really plan to just lounge around.
Whoever wants to watch, can, and whoever doesn’t should just leave.
If I did this every day, it’d be a problem, but one day should be fine.
Especially since it’s the last day of the year.
“This is Miro’s daily observation diary, so everyone else, do your own thing.”
I’m just going to chill out.
Right now, I’m already piled up with webtoons, occasionally checking the chat.
– “Are you really not doing anything??”
– “Ugh, lol.”
– “Play some music or something.”
“Music? Ah, just a sec.”
Music should be easy.
I can put it on for the viewers.
After all, it’s not like I’m going to be using this for a YouTube video, so I guess any song would be fine.
I stood up and walked back to the computer desk.
“What should I play?”
– “Can we get some recommendations?”
– “Songs from the celestial realm, let’s go!”
– “Play a surprise mix.”
“Even if you ask me to play something, I can’t think of any…”
Since I usually just played whatever YouTube recommended, it’s tough to figure out what to play.
“I’ll ask at the café.”
At that moment, I thought of the café and said that.
Since I’m at it, I should check out the fan café for the first time in a while.
There must be some posts piled up during the break, right?
So I entered the café and immediately started looking through the popular posts.
As usual, it was filled with humor and random posts.
Seeing this gives me a sense of pride, as it feels like a community now.
It feels like just yesterday when no posts were made, and it was like a deserted island. Now it seems to be running quite well.
At this rate, I wouldn’t be embarrassed compared to the other members.
Anyway, while reading through some humor posts, I stumbled upon a title I couldn’t ignore.
[Isn’t this where Miro went to the party yesterday??]
“Party?”
Looking at the post, it seemed a female model had posted a photo with Hyeon-su from the party yesterday on Instagram.
It looks like they inferred I went to the same party just because they saw Hyeon-su…
Hmm… they’re accurate.
Did they figure it out just from seeing Hyeon-su? There didn’t seem to be any major issues with backgrounds or descriptions.
“Wow, she’s pretty. The celebrity next to her is also handsome.”
– “Damn, that celebrity is someone we know.”
– “Isn’t that an insider’s party?”
– “What a socialite, haha.”
Uh oh, it’s getting tense.
These guys are saying I’m some sort of socialite?
I did go to that party, but I just sat in the corner and sipped my drink.
“Does it matter that I went to an unimportant party yesterday? What’s important is that we’re all spending the day together, right?”
– “Stop dodging the question, you jerk.”
– “So did you go or not?”
– “Gah.. I’m gonna lose it.”
“Let’s move on to the next post.”
I did go, but at least I made it back home okay!
Since I turned on the broadcast for proof, there shouldn’t be any problems.
After getting song recommendations and listening to music while killing time, I eventually got up to watch some anime I saw during Christmas.
It felt surprisingly slow as time flew by, and before I knew it, it was evening.
Dinner should be a family affair, so I asked for the viewers’ understanding and went to the living room for dinner.
“Are you going to stay in the room today?”
Seeing the bountiful table for the last dinner of the year impressed me, and Mr. Kim, who was home since it was a holiday, asked that.
“Oh, I was broadcasting.”
“All day?”
“Just… it’s the year-end.”
“You worked hard.”
I felt slightly embarrassed hearing Mr. Kim’s casual praise.
…From his perspective, spending the whole day could look like work, but… it really wasn’t.
Broadcasting while lying down, reading novels, and scanning webtoons feels a bit shameless to call work.
“Are you going to keep broadcasting today?”
Mr. Kim’s next question made me pause for a moment.
When he asked whether I’d continue, he was probably talking about after midnight.
Being family and sharing the same home, he probably wants to experience the stroke of midnight together.
Now that I think about it, we couldn’t do that last year.
Last year, we were all gathered for a live year-end stream, after all.
Since I spent last year’s midnight with the members, it would be nice to spend it with family this year, too…
“Yeah, um…”
This year, I’m planning to share it with the viewers.
When I replied, Mr. Kim made a strange disappointed face, so I quickly averted my gaze.
But Mrs. Jang is there, right?
A couple should listen to it together.
Since I’m the only one with viewers, I have to stick with them too.
After enjoying a delicious dinner, I returned to my room.
After coming back, I spent my time casually.
Really, I didn’t do anything significant today.
Broadcasting time was ticking down to 24 hours, but there didn’t seem to be many moments worth using for a YouTube clip.
After all, playing copyrighted songs made it tricky to use.
“Thank you all for this past year.”
Time slipped away quickly, and now there’s less than a minute left until the New Year.
Just this morning feels like it was just a moment ago, yet it’s almost midnight.
– “Yes.”
– “T_T.”
– “What did I even do this year?”
…It feels strange.
Is it really the New Year now?
I see people gathering in front of the bells.
[10!!…]
It’s almost here, and people have started counting down.
– “88.”
– “999.”
– “888.”
– “9999.”
Of course, the viewers have also been counting down since earlier.
Hearing the sounds around me while watching the numbers in the chat brings so many thoughts.
I laughed, but I didn’t cry… with all the hardships, at least there hasn’t been any tears, so I guess I can say I’m doing alright.
It wasn’t a perfect year, but it was still well spent.
Thinking that hopefully, next year will be just like this year, in the midst of those thoughts.
Ding—
Before I knew it, the countdown had ended, and the clear bell chimed.
Ding-ding—
And as soon as the bell rang, my phone started buzzing with new year’s greetings from friends.
I glanced at the vibrations for a moment before shifting my focus back to the chat.
Since I’m broadcasting, it feels best to hear my first new year’s wishes from the viewers…
– “Look at your phone going off, damn.”
– “What a socialite, haha.”
– “Why am I the only one with no messages?”
…I should have set my phone to silent mode.
But anyway…
“Wishing you a happy New Year!”
A new year has begun.
