Chapter 223

The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide

Chapter 216: A Flashy Signal in No Time

After parting ways with Sonia, Fiera arrived alone at the western entrance and found herself pondering while watching three men who were on guard from a distance.

(Hmm. What should I do? I was told to make the signal flashy, but how do I do that?)

It wasn’t that she was worried because her opponents were strong, but rather how to respond to Ascent’s words about making a flashy signal.

(I can’t do magical attacks like Sonia, so hmm… I’ve made up my mind.)

Deciding how to send a flashy signal, Fiera enveloped herself in a body enhancement and vanished from the spot in an instant.

“Ah, I’m so bored.”

“Don’t say that. Once you realize you’re bored, it just gets even more boring, you know?”

“Well, it’s better than being busy because the enemy is attacking.”

The thieves who were stationed at the western entrance had completely lost their tension, as it had been several days since they raided the village, and no one had come to attack them.

“Haah, I wish I could hurry up and rest inside.”

“Hahaha, then you better rack up some achievements to get recognized by the boss!”

“Yeah. Next time, let’s rally the others and see if we can raid the village ourselves?”

“Ahahaha! That sounds great! Then… guh!”

While the men laughed heartily, the guy on the far right was about to say something when he vanished in an instant as if he had never been there to begin with, followed by a series of crashing noises from behind.

“Hmm. That was a good jump. He must have landed on the opposite side where Sonia and the others are.”

“…Huh?”

The man turned back, confused, to see several buildings in the village with holes blasted into their walls, and a streak of blood leading towards those holes.

Following that line of blood with his eyes, he spotted a beautiful girl with dog ears and brown hair, clad in a golden aura on her right hand, intently watching the direction where the blood was flowing.

“W-who are you?”

“Hmm? I’m Rafi. I’ve come to exterminate you thieves.”

“Exterminate us? Wait, what did you just do? What happened to our buddy…”

“I just punched him and sent him flying.”

“Punched?”

The flashy signal Fiera had imagined using her physical attacks was a very straightforward one: she had used her strength to send the man flying to the other side.

First, Fiera, concealed by her body enhancement, moved in an instant from her hiding spot and tripped the randomly chosen man, kicking him up into the air as he lost his balance, and then she unleashed a full-powered punch, enveloped in fighting spirit and body enhancement.

The whole process took merely two seconds, which was so fast that even the nearby companions couldn’t comprehend what had just happened.

As for the man who got punched, he had already entered the realm of monsters like Lewis, and he was punched with such power that his head exploded on the spot, leaving no chance for him to survive.

“Hmm. It seems I managed to reach over there safely.”

A moment later, sounds of battle began to echo from the east, indicating that the corpse had reached Ascent and the others without disintegrating in the air.

“You’re a nuisance, so you can die now.”

She had left two more just in case it didn’t reach, but seeing that the first one had safely arrived, Fiera sent a hand-knife from her hand which had partially transformed, and two heads dropped to the ground with a thud.

“Next.”

Fiera began to eliminate the thieves within the village like it was a routine task, showing no particular emotion, and she was like a war god, with no one able to even touch her.

“Haah… haah… what the hell is that?!!”

After some time since Fiera’s attack, one of the men was running through a dark underground passage.

“I never thought the boss would be taken down! The other adventurers were in trouble too, but that beast-woman is on a whole different level! Getting killed in an instant like that…”

After Fiera took down the sentries, Ascent and Rick attacked from the east, and the thieves who were completely unsuspecting were quickly subdued.

Particularly impressive were Rick’s party, whose skillful swordsmanship, calm commands, Fall’s large shield defense, his ability to assess the position of allies, and Sonia’s excellent magical attacks coupled with Mail’s timely buffs and healing spells left no room for error. Even Ascent’s group, working alongside them, was astonished at their battle prowess.

And as they pressed all the way to the center where the thief boss was located without anyone being able to halt Fiera’s momentum, her merciless strike instantaneously killed the boss, prompting one of the hiding subordinates to recognize they had no chance and escape through a hidden passage.

“I’m not some insignificant human who’ll die here!! I will absolutely, definitely survive!”

The man then escaped through the secret passage he had created just in case, disappearing into the forest.

“Thank goodness. One of them managed to escape. I thought I wouldn’t have my turn. Now, my crows, go ahead.”

However, likely due to his desperation to flee, the man was completely unaware of the crows chasing after him, and ultimately, that would lead to the difference between his life and death.

Meanwhile, Kamael and the others, who had arrived at the cave a bit later than Fiera, were tired for a different reason.

“Hey, how about going out with us to town next time? I’ll buy you anything!”

“Yeah, yeah! I’ll even take you to a fancy restaurant!”

“I’ll teach you all sorts of fun stuff too!!”

‘………’

The reason for this tiredness stemmed from some party members accompanying Kamael; excluding Kamael, there were nine members present, but only two were women and the rest seven were men.

It was only natural that if a beautiful girl like Shuvina or Sephiria entered this situation, the shameless men would swarm around her, leading to unavoidable grumpiness among the female party members.

(Sigh. I had a bad feeling since we were arguing about the rewards, but these guys really are dumb.)

Even though they were about to engage in a fight with the thieves, the men were desperate to catch the attention of Shuvina and the others, while the ladies had completely ignored them and hadn’t spoken a word since leaving the guild.

(I think they’re a C-rank party. The other party is B-rank, so they seem to be more alert, but these guys are impossible. I wish they would flirt in town instead.)

The tense atmosphere was created by the party that had been insisting on determining rewards based on their performance, while the other B-rank party remained vigilant even in such a situation.

“We’ve arrived.”

After a while, Kamael and the others reached the cave that served as the thieves’ base. When Yipson, the overall leader for this mission, gestured for everyone to stop, they all halted in place.

“Hm. There are only two sentries, but they look like decent fighters.”

“Yeah. They seem to be quite alert, possibly because of the previous failure. What’s the plan?”

“Hmm. Lehamu, the intel said there shouldn’t be any escape routes here, right?”

“Yeah. That’s what the receptionist at the guild said.”

“Then, there’s only that entrance.”

As they made their way here, Yipson had several discussions with Kamael and had noticed that he possessed a keen analytical ability and could calmly assess situations, so he sought his opinion again on this matter.

“Even if we go in from the front, if we don’t take out both at nearly the same time, they’ll realize we’re here.”

“That’s true. One of my companions is good with a bow. Your teammate is also an archer, right? How about we take out one each?”

“I’m fine with that, but we should ask the individuals first. How about you, Vishe? Can you handle it?”

“Not an issue.”

“Got it. Then let’s—”

“Wait a minute!”

Just as Shuvina agreed and the plan was about to be finalized, a scowling blonde man who had been silent up until now jumped in front of Shuvina protectively for some inexplicable reason.

“Are you seriously thinking of having a girl kill someone? That’s not very manly.”

“Exactly! This is the time for us men to show our worth!”

These men were the C-rank adventurers who had been hitting on Shuvina and Sephiria on their way over, and presumably wanting to impress the girls, they confidently proclaimed such sentiments.

“Show your worth, huh… Can you even use bows?”

“Ha! Instead of sneaking about using bows, we should fight like men up front!”

“Yeah, right! Real men should fight openly and honorably instead of sneak attacking!”

“Come to think of it, you said you were good with daggers during your introduction. So, does that mean you prefer to sneak attack from behind? Pathetic. I would fight head-on with a sword! That’s way more manly!”

While the men made disparaging remarks towards Kamael, they kept flashing looks at Shuvina and the others, unnecessarily emphasizing what it means to be “manly.”

(How ridiculous. There’s nothing manly or cool about killing. Killing is just killing, and if you don’t kill decisively, it’s you who’ll be the one dead.)

Hearing the men’s completely off-base remarks suddenly cleared Kamael’s mind from the worries he had before, shifting to the cold logic of an assassin.

“Then maybe you should go first?”

“W-wait, Lehamu, what are you…”

“Sorry, Yipson. Can you keep quiet for a moment?”

“…Got it.”

Yipson was taken aback by Kamael’s unexpected challenge, trying to stop him, but feeling a strange fear from the smile directed at him, he could only comply.

“If you insist so much, then I’d love to see a truly manly fight. If by any chance you manage to subdue the thieves in here on your own, I will ask them for you, and you can take one of the girls on a date for a day.”

“What?! You really mean that?!”

“Of course. Well, only if you can subdue them, that is.”

“Haha! No problem! We’ll massacre every single one of the thieves in here! Let’s go, guys!”

With that, the three men charged out from the bushes with the two displeased women, rushing right towards the sentries of the thieves.

Perhaps because of their numbers, they quickly took down the two sentries without any sign of caution and stepped into the cave.

“Lehamu. Was that really okay?”

“No problem at all. I think Yipson understands as well, but they won’t be able to take out the thieves inside on their own. And even if the thieves realize we’re attacking, it doesn’t matter. If they have no escape routes, they have no choice but to confront us. But once they choose to fight, they have no chance of survival.”

“Still, what if…”

“Impossible. Because I won’t let that happen. Once I decide to kill, I’ll definitely kill. Even if I lose my arms and legs, I’ll hold a dagger in my mouth and bite my target to death. Once I decide to kill, I will surely kill.”

“You…”

Overwhelmed by Kamael’s ominous intent to murder, Yipson could no longer say anything, resorting only to looking away, unable to meet his gaze as they faced towards the cave.

After a little while, shrieks from men echoed from within, and finally, Kamael and the others stood up and began walking toward the cave.

“Now, it’s time to kill. Let’s wrap up this request neatly.”

Holding onto the dagger he had pulled out from somewhere, Kamael grinned as if savoring the kill, silencing his footsteps, senses, and even the very intent to kill, making it seem as though he had vanished from this world.

What happened next was a blur; the nineteen thieves inside had their throats slit by Kamael’s dagger, and fell one after another as they were shot down by the arrows released by Shuvina.

Yipson’s group also managed to take out a few thieves with the buffs provided by Sephiria, but most were dispatched by Kamael and Shuvina.

“Phew. We have been the most active, so it looks like we’ll be getting the largest share of the rewards.”

“Even though it would have been fine to split it evenly, this way it looks like we’ll get more.”

“Right. We might even need to thank those guys laying over there.”

Since Kamael and the others weren’t particularly fixated on money, they initially thought they would share evenly.

However, it seemed the C-rank adventurers wanted their share to be larger, leading to a system of distribution based on performance, resulting in Kamael and the others receiving the most rewards.

The C-rank adventurers who charged in first fell victim to the traps set up by the thieves, and not only did they fail to kill anyone, but also ended up gravely wounded from poisoned arrows.

Seeing them left behind, Shuvina suggested leaving them, but Yipson insisted that it wouldn’t be right, leading to Sephiria using healing magic to tend to them.

Afterward, irritated at the grumbling and excuses of the rescued men, Shuvina had Dōna bind their mouths and limbs with vines, and she asked Yipson and the others to drag them back to Alphis Town.
