Chapter 221

I wake up early in the morning to start my day.

If I’m quick, I’m up by 5 AM, but at the latest, I’m awake before 7 AM.

After opening my eyes, I have breakfast and head out for exercise.

Running to the training ground I share with Jeong Ha-yul is always the same, but once I arrive, it’s my call.

“Ah, sometimes I stop by Sister Chae-song’s memorial hall, so it’s not *always* the same.”

Once I arrive, I do plyometric training to strengthen my tendons and ligaments.

Or I do CrossFit, or weightlifting—it’s up to me.

I just choose whatever training I feel like that day.

After finishing training by 9 AM, I run back home.

I shower and eat a late breakfast.

After eating, I laze around to digest, then head back to the training ground.

This time, my schedule aligns with Ha-yul’s, so I often ride in Kang-woo’s car.

Once there, I focus on telekinesis and magic training, working on my abilities.

It usually ends around 11:30 AM to 12 PM.

Then I head back home for lunch.

After that, it’s recovery time—slowly circulating my magic power and loosening my muscles.

I use a foam roller to relax my fascia.

Grabbing a ballet bar to improve flexibility is a bonus.

Once my body feels loose enough, I take a nap. If I feel stiff, I go for a massage.

By this point, it’s around 2 to 3 PM.

Now I catch up on movies, dramas, or variety shows I’ve missed.

Lately, I’ve started feeling disillusioned with humanity, so I don’t enter Summoner’s Rift anymore.

I mean, I feed the entire team first blood and even burn their summoner spells, but they repay me with three deaths? That’s just too much.

I hit 9 kills before 10 minutes, but the team score is 9:21? Seriously…

Every game, there are at least two people intentionally feeding.

Even a pro couldn’t win this.

After spending my leisure time like this, it’s around 6 PM.

Time for a fun dinner.

Just like lunch, it’s a nutritious and balanced meal… yeah, right.

I just order whatever looks delicious and devour it.

If there’s any nutrient deficiency from eating like this, it’s not my fault—it’s the food industry’s.

After dinner, I start gaming.

Of course, I don’t enter Summoner’s Rift.

I’m never doing it again! Never!

Games where you play as the Border Guard or a dragon in a historical drama setting have started trending, so I tried them out, but solo games just aren’t my style.

I play a bit of an FPS game called “Sonorant” made by my Rift friends, and once it’s past 9 PM, I start preparing for bed.

I turn off all the lights, lie in bed, and watch YouTube. But instead of sleeping, I end up staying up all night, so I put my phone far away.

Once my phone is gone, all sorts of random thoughts and worries creep into my head, trying to disrupt my sleep.

But I ignore them and try my best to sleep.

By around 10 to 11 PM, I seem to fall asleep.

Just another repetitive day.

A week passes, then two weeks.

When a month had passed, I realized I hadn’t left the house even once, except for exercise, and fell into a serious existential crisis.

“…Am I just a jobless bum?”

How can no one be looking for me?

Overcome by a sense of betrayal, I opened my phone…

-Too lazy.

-I’m busy.

-I’m exercising.

It was filled with my own short replies.

Huh, I guess I brought this on myself.

I had a strong feeling I was becoming a full-blown hikikomori, a shut-in.

“Oh right, the Uninhabited Island team—weren’t we supposed to meet soon? What happened to them?”

I opened my phone again and checked the Uninhabited Island team group chat…

Yup, turns out I just didn’t show up.

I turned off notifications because it was too noisy, and this is what happened.

“Even so, couldn’t they have called me at least once?”

I think I might’ve answered PD Choi’s call half-asleep…

Anyway, this can’t go on…

I’m not working so I can just play around, but I’m not even doing *that* properly.

Like the variety show appearance I talked about with Eun-chae.

Or the streaming idea I had after that.

I need to enjoy my life, even if I’m working.

But first, I need to find a way to play without working.

***

“…So, you’re saying you came because you were bored?”

“That’s a weird way to summarize it, but yeah, I guess I’m just tired of the repetitive daily routine and want to refresh myself.”

“So, you’re tired of being jobless, huh?”

“….”

Park Seol-hwa half-listened to me while skimming through documents on her desk, signing some and tossing others to the floor.

“Sorry, Gyeoul, but I’ve been really busy lately. Can we hang out a bit later?”

“…Got it, sorry for bothering you.”

“Yeah, take care. Let’s hang out next time for sure.”

Got 1 roast from Park Seol-hwa.

***

“Bald Guy got beaten up by Ha-yul, and now he’s taking it out on me. Sorry, I really don’t have time.”

“…No need to apologize, it’s all Sister Ha-yul’s fault.”

“Anyway, next time I’m free… Oh crap, sorry, I gotta go!”

Jo Se-hee dashed off as soon as her phone rang.

That ringtone definitely sounded like the one Jeong Ha-yul uses for Association calls.

Jo Se-hee, the Great Thief, has become quite the hero.

Good for her.

Unrelated, I got 2 roasts from Jo Se-hee.

***

“No way? Just bring back one dungeon Dae-hyun missed. Are you saying even that’s impossible?”

“Guild Master… Dae-hyun’s legal team and law firms have reviewed this countless times, but there’s no way.”

“Ah, so if Dae-hyun can’t do it, neither can we?”

“It’s already been transferred to the government, so there’s nothing we can do…”

“If we just say ‘there’s nothing we can do,’ does that mean we’re done with guild life?”

“….”

Even from outside the door, I could hear Ha-yun yelling.

The secretaries were shielding me, so the situation inside must’ve been serious.

“Does our director just say ‘Oh, if the subordinates say there’s no way, then there’s no way’ and move on?”

“The Association employee assigned as the dungeon manager is notoriously…”

“Director?”

“Yes…”

“How much was your salary last year from our guild?”

“…A little over 9 billion won.”

“That’s the kind of salary CEOs of major corporations get, right?”

“…Yes.”

“And you can’t control one Association employee, so the work ends up like this?”

“….”

“You need to earn your keep. Did you think the guild was paying you 9 billion just to laze around?”

“I’m sorry.”

“Sigh… Find a way, somehow. I’m sorry for raising my voice.”

“No, it’s understandable.”

…Scary.

My hands and cheeks are trembling.

Thinking that someone like that is my superior gives me chills.

For now, it’s best not to run into Ha-yun today.

“I’m the kind of person who doesn’t flinch even at Demon Kings from the Demon Realm…”

I greeted the secretaries and left the guild without looking back.

…Her charisma was insane.

I ran away before getting a 3rd roast.

***

“Welcome?”

I entered after receiving a strange greeting.

I got roasted by Park Seol-hwa, Jo Se-hee, and Ha-yun… Well, I didn’t even go in to see Ha-yun because she’s scary, but still.

Anyway, after getting roasted three times in a row, I felt pretty down.

At times like this, only the Chicken God can comfort me.

“But… it’s empty.”

The place was completely empty.

Current time: 1:17 PM.

The perfect time to tear into some chicken…

Feeling uneasy, I was about to turn around and leave when…

“Customer! Please sit here. What would you like?”

Well, no matter how bad their cooking is, the Chicken God can’t be tasteless.

Plus, I didn’t feel like looking for another place, so I sat down.

“One of each chicken on the menu. And a large cola.”

“For groups, there’s a larger table inside if that’s more convenient…”

“…I’m alone.”

“…Huh?”

“I’m a mukbang prodigy, so just bring it.”

“Ah… Okay, got it.”

Every time I enter a restaurant, the staff gives me a disbelieving look and asks again.

At some point, I got tired of explaining and came up with the “mukbang prodigy” line.

Of course, some people still don’t get it.

People just can’t eat that much. Someone my size ordering so much? You’ll die. You’ll get sick. Blah blah.

Luckily, the staff in front of me understood immediately and headed to the kitchen.

The kitchen got a bit noisy, but that’s not my problem.

“This is bad.”

I didn’t expect to get roasted by Park Seol-hwa, the Winter enthusiast.

Hayan and Chae-rin are probably still in class…

I thought about hanging out with Choi Jeong-min and Kim Su-chan after a long time… Nah, that’s not even a backup plan—it’s the worst idea.

Just imagining it gave me a headache.

In the end, do I have to go home empty-handed?

As I was wondering why my relationships are like this, my phone rang.

It was PD Choi.

…What’s with the timing? Don’t tell me he’s filming me or something?
