Chapter 221
The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide
Chapter 214: An Unexpected Reunion
Two days after the incident at the Adventurers’ Guild.
Kamael and the others had arrived at the Adventurers’ Guild early in the morning and were called together by the receptionist they met on their first visit.
“Good morning!”
“Good morning, Rehamu! And everyone else too!”
“Mm.”
“Good morning.”
“Yawn~ The guild staff is up so early in the morning!”
“Good morning!”
After exchanging greetings, the receptionist confirmed that everyone from Kamael’s group was present and began explaining why she had gathered them.
“Now, regarding the other participants for this request, they should be arriving shortly. Before that, can I confirm if you have any experience working together with other parties?”
“I have taken requests with multiple people a few times before forming this party. In fact, I only recently formed a party with them.”
“Oh, I see. How about you, Rafi?”
“I’ve seen it happen, rather than participated in it.”
“I haven’t had any experience either.”
“I haven’t either. Before joining my current party, I acted alone and never fought alongside anyone.”
“I’m a recovery magic specialist, so I’ve never had the experience of teaming up. I mainly focused on buffs during battles and recovery afterwards.”
“I see. So, most of you have not experienced working with other parties before.”
Hearing Kamael’s responses, the receptionist let out a sigh of relief that she had gathered them together and began discussing the things to be careful of when participating in joint requests.
“First, let’s discuss collaboration. This will require you all to have discussions among yourselves since you’ll be the ones engaging in combat. It’s advisable to have thorough discussions and confirmations beforehand, as there have been past incidents where parties that didn’t communicate ended up in conflicts due to accidental attacks.”
“I mean, Rafi, you have a habit of acting solo, so be sure to communicate, okay?”
“Mm. The one to watch out for is actually An. Your magic is too powerful.”
“Oh, that’s true.”
“Secondly, the most contentious point tends to be regarding the rewards. The rewards available for payment are limited, so generally, they are distributed equally among the participating parties.
However, if the parties involved agree among themselves during discussions, it’s possible that the rewards could be divided according to contribution and performance.
This aspect requires discussions with the other parties, and the guild side can’t interject on this matter. Be careful since it’s common for disputes to arise over which party performed the best or deserves the most rewards.”
“Got it. So, what happens to the treasures obtained after defeating the thieves?”
“Regarding treasures, priority goes to the finder, and you must discuss whether to keep it as your party’s reward or distribute it among the other parties.”
The receptionist explained everything politely, emphasizing that important matters should be resolved through discussions among the adventurers and that although rewards would be given, the guild would generally remain uninvolved in any subsequent disputes.
“Oh, it seems everyone else has arrived now.”
As she spoke, all the adventurers, properly equipped, stepped into the guild and halted in front of Kamael’s group.
“Thank you all for accepting this request. I sincerely apologize for keeping you waiting. As mentioned before, we’ve finally found the last party to join, so you’ve been gathered here today.”
At this point, five parties had congregated in the space led by the woman’s voice, totaling 23 adventurers intently listening to her brief.
“However, due to the requests of the last party, they will be divided into two groups to handle both requests. But their capabilities have been assessed by several of our staff, including myself, so even if they are divided, we’ve judged there won’t be any issues.
If you feel uncertain, you’re welcome to confirm within the same group, but please avoid injuries since there are still requests to fulfill. Now, let’s go over the details of the request.”
She proceeded to share vital information about the location of the thieves, nearby villages, monster activity, and the number of thieves discovered during the guild’s investigation, quickly wrapping everything up in about 15 minutes.
“That’s all for our findings. We’ve previously attempted to explore the cave unsuccessfully, so there may be increased vigilance from the thieves compared to before. Please be cautious. We’re finished confirming; now discuss amongst your groups and head to your respective request locations once you’re ready.”
With that, the woman moved to the side, and the adventurers split into teams for the cave and the village, including Kamael’s group heading toward their respective divisions.
At the destination chosen by Fiera and Sonia, there were five men and four women, among whom Fiera recognized two men and two women.
“Sonia and Mail?”
In the same group were Rick, Fall, Sonia, and Mail—whom they had encountered in the Town of Adonia two years ago—now returning with a stronger, more formidable aura than before.
“Huh? Do we know you?”
“Have we met somewhere?”
However, Sonia and the others couldn’t immediately recognize Fiera due to her changed appearance, and they pondered who she could be.
“Sonia, do you have any idea who this beast-human is? I don’t think I could forget such a beautiful dog beast-human…”
“Ah, wait. I feel like I’m starting to remember. Hmm? Wait, could it be… Ah! Fi—”
“Stop!”
As soon as Sonia tried to say Fiera’s name, Fiera swiftly covered Sonia’s mouth, interrupting her with incredible speed.
“I’m Rafi.”
“Mmph…”
Sonia, sensing there was some reason behind Fiera calling herself Rafi, nodded, and Fiera released her hold, stepping back.
“Phew. Rafi, it’s been a while! Since Adonia, right!? You’ve changed so much I didn’t recognize you at first!”
“Mm. It’s been a while.”
“Adonia… Ah!”
It was only when Mail mentioned Adonia that she recognized the transformed Fiera before her; she covertly informed Rick and Fall, who looked surprised and nodded.
“Rafi, good to see you again. It’s been two years since we separated in Adonia, huh?”
“Mm. It’s been a while for Rick and Fall too.”
“Yes, it’s been a while. Good to see you looking well.”
“Mm. Healthy.”
“Glad to hear that! By the way…”
“Ahem! Do you all know each other?”
Just as Fiera and the others looked like they might dive into a lively conversation upon their reunion, a man from another party nearby cleared his throat to interject.
“Mm. Yes. Who are you?”
“I’m Ascent, leading the party that will be taking on this request with you.”
“Mm. I’m Rafi.”
“I’m Rick.”
“Ah, Rafi and Rick. I apologize, but while I’m sure you all have things to catch up on since it’s been a while, how about we discuss the details of the request first?”
“Oh dear, sorry about that! I got carried away since it’s been so long since we last met.”
“Mm. Understood.”
Reminded that they weren’t the only ones participating in the request, Fiera and her friends decided to save their conversation for later and focused first on confirming the details of the request, doing introductions, and discussing the rewards.
As a result, it was decided that they would head straight to the village with the thieves, and it was comfortably agreed that rewards would be split evenly, with priority for treasures going to the parties that found them.
After wrapping up their preparations swiftly, Fiera and her friends reported their decisions to the receptionist and departed the guild to head for the village.
Meanwhile, Kamael’s group found it challenging to reach a consensus on the rewards, ultimately deciding that they would receive a greater share depending on their level of achievement, with priority for treasures going to the first party to find them. They also set off toward the cave where the thieves were located.
