Chapter 213

The Villainous Noble Who Kept Rewinding After Death: The Story Somehow Changed When I Committed Suicide

Chapter 206: I Want to Try

—Side Miria—

After Lewis headed towards Nashtallica, the members of the Venom Serpents and the bandits surrounded Miria, glaring at her as if to dispel their fear of Lewis.

In response, Miria calmly surveyed her surroundings, then narrowed her eyes and slowly began to speak.

“Well then. Those who remain here will be my opponents. I would like to treat this with courtesy, but unfortunately, I am short on time, so let’s wrap this up quickly.”

“What?! You’re short on time? You meant you can’t buy time, right?!”

“Exactly! That monster was terrifying, but surely there can’t be multiples of such a monster! We’ll take you down ourselves!!”

The men thought Miria would be no match for them since she was alone, or perhaps Lewis’s overwhelming power had made her seem like an ordinary person in their eyes, but they were not aware of a crucial fact.

That is, the companions of the monster they believed Lewis to be were no ordinary folks, and moreover, the very moment such a monster left her alone in this situation, she too had stepped into the realm of the monsters.

“You seem to be lively, but are you okay?”

“Haha! Am I okay?? How about you worry about yourself…”

“Yikes!”

“Ahhh! It hurts, it hurts!”

“I’m dying! It hurts too much!!!”

As one man smirked and tried to suggest they worry about themselves, suddenly, the men on his opposite side began screaming and writhing in pain.

“W-what’s happening?!”

“What’s wrong?!”

Panic spread around them as they witnessed their comrades suffering, but their eyes were captivated by those still in pain.

“M-my body…”

“W-what the hell is that?!”

The skin of the men writhing in pain pulsed as if something was crawling inside them, blood vessels bursting and blood spilling out.

“This is the expected effect. It seems usable in the future.”

Amidst the chaos, Miria quietly observed the men suffering and began to jot something down on a sheet of paper that seemingly appeared from nowhere.

“Y-you! Is that your doing?!”

“Hm? Oh, that? Yes, that is the effect of my poison.”

“P-poison?!”

“Yes. It’s called ‘Mega Pain’, and those who ingest this poison have their blood in a state of extreme excitation, circulating through their bodies at an unbelievable speed. As a result, their vessels twist like insects crawling around, and those unable to withstand the pressure burst the vessels, tearing through the skin. Furthermore, this poison also heightens sensitivity in the nerves, causing excruciating pain as the sensitive nerves and writhing blood vessels clash, like being slowly cut by a rusted knife.”

‘Mega Pain’ is one of the special poisons created through Miria’s concoction. Directly lethal capability is not its focus, but it is a perilous poison that can lead to self-destruction under unbearable pain or drive those suffering to suicide.

“Poison… but we haven’t eaten anything! So how could it affect us?!”

“Poison isn’t just something you ingest directly. Broadly, poisons can be classified as solid, liquid, gas, or powder. The type I used this time is a powdered poison, which, even if not ingested directly, enters the body through breathing, blinking, or even through pores.”

“W-what the hell is that…?”

“But we haven’t shown any symptoms of poison!”

“It’s not that you haven’t shown symptoms; it’s that they’ll show up soon. Like this for example…”

“It’s hot! What is this?!”

“It burns! It burnnnns!”

As Miria clapped her hands lightly, the men on her left suddenly began to scream.

When the men hurriedly turned their gaze towards them, their skin was turning red and blistered, looking as if they were severely burned.

“That’s poison called ‘Burny-Burn’, which causes burns on the area of contact, turning it red like a burn with pain and blisters that feel as though the skin is being seared.”

While explaining the poison, Miria continued to write down effects and modifications on her paper, and as they watched her in growing fear, the men began to back away step by step.

“Oh dear. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to escape. It’s your turn next!”

“Ahhhh?!”

“D-don’t come! Stay away!”

“No, it wasn’t me who killed you! It wasn’t me!”

As Elena watch the fleeing men lightly tapped her thigh, the remaining men suddenly crouched down, losing their composure, panicking as they whimpered in fright.

“Hmm. ‘Poe Poe Poe’ seems to have no issues with its effect. It looks like they’re seeing some vivid hallucinations.”

‘Poe Poe Poe’ was a toxic substance with powerful hallucinogenic properties, showing what a person fears most deep within their mind as a hallucination, leading to mental breakdown.

“This one doesn’t seem to require any improvements. It looks fine judging by the reactions, so I’ll consider it complete. Ah, but at this rate, everyone’s going to die. ‘Stimulating Tingling!'”

After Miria used the powder from a small vial she pulled from her pocket and made the men inhale it with wind magic, those who were previously screaming in terror suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed, leaving the area quiet in an instant.

“This poison seems good too! I got some nice data this time.”

The last poison, ‘Stimulating Tingling’, is a paralysis toxin, but because it was created by Miria, it had instant effects and a long duration, striking the body with a powerful tingling akin to being struck by lightning, which far exceeded the capabilities of a typical paralysis poison.

“Now then. Let’s watch Luna’s battle. Ahh, Luna! You’re really strong and beautiful. Just watching you makes my heart race!”

The reason Miria wanted to end the battle quickly was to engrave Lewis’s fight into her memory, wanting to remember everything about him.

Thus, the men, unable to even touch Miria, became mere test subjects for her poisons, ultimately passing out in the end.

—Side Lewis—

“Haha! Nice! As expected of the clan leader! You have some interesting sword techniques!”

“Tch. What an annoying little girl. What’s so fun about all this?”

After leaving the grunts to Miria, Naguraia and I finally engaged in the long-awaited battle, and it was quite entertaining.

Most of the opponents I had fought before had been men, who had their strategies based on experience, but perhaps because they were men, they relied more on brute strength.

However, she was different.

Women tend to be at a disadvantage in muscle mass, and in a battle of strength, most women would likely lose to men.

But women have their own strengths, including the flexibility of their muscles and the keen insight to discern the finer details.

Naguraia was precisely a woman who had honed those attributes, and while her fighting style lacked brute force, her ability to deflect techniques and read my movements was remarkably high.

“Ugh!!”

Naguraia expertly deflected my downward slash, creating some distance while looking at me with an annoyed expression.

“What a little brat.”

“You’re pretty good too. I thought I had improved my defensive techniques in martial arts, but the techniques for swordplay are a different story. This is a great learning experience.”

Two years ago, when I fought against Build, I learned the ideal movements for my body and how to deflect techniques in martial arts.

It primarily involved angles of wrist movement, footwork, and ways to absorb and dispel power, but swordplay required a slightly different approach.

Unlike martial arts, swordplay cannot be moved as intricately, and due to having a weapon instead of the body, inherently tricky maneuvers arise.

Until now, I had been using my wrist’s movements and foot techniques to deflect attacks, but that wasn’t enough.

Naguraia deflected not only with her wrists but by integrating her body with the sword’s movements, relaxing any excess power throughout her body and using minimal motion and strength to deflect attacks.

This ability stemmed from the flexibility and softness that women typically possess in their muscles, combined with her experience in reading an opponent’s strength and movements.

“I truly think your technique is remarkable. The strength you demonstrate for a woman almost feels like it comes from being a woman.”

“Hmph. I don’t feel happy to be complimented by an enemy.”

“Haha. I just stated my honest impressions. However, that alone won’t let you win against me, will it?”

“Tch. I’m frustrated, but I understand that much. So, let’s change our tactics a little.”

As Naguraia spoke, channeling magic power into her weapon, the blade elongated like a snake, transforming from a sword to a whiplike form.

“Wow, that’s a weapon I’ve never seen before!”

“It’s a magical sword called the ‘Yorum’, with which I can turn it into a regular sword or use it like this by pouring magic power into it. I stumbled across this weapon in the dungeon, and its versatility makes it quite a favorite of mine.”

“Ooh~”

The ‘Yorum’ was also new to me, and it appeared that a thick string-like substance ran through the middle of the blade, connecting the split blades.

Each of the split blades was shaped like a massive arrowhead, making it seem dangerously threatening if it wrapped around an arm or body and sank into flesh.

“Hehe. So, what happens if it wraps around your arm?”

“Simple. It sinks into the flesh, and if I pull, I can tear the skin and flesh right off. Want to give it a try?”

“Ahaha! Sure! Let’s try it!”

“Huh?”

Naguraia looked dumbfounded as if she could hardly believe I would suggest trying it out, but I thrust my left arm forward to show her I was dead serious.

“Come on, show me. I want to see what happens to my arm when I take that hit.”

“A-are you serious?”

“Of course. It wouldn’t be a problem if I lost an arm, and it would work in your favor too since you could have a chance to win. Plus, I’d get to experience an attack from a weapon I’ve never seen before. I think both of us would benefit.”

“N-no, that’s not what I meant…”

“Ah, maybe you wanted to use the right arm? It’s true that it’s preferable to use the dominant hand. Here, go ahead.”

By offering my right arm instead, Naguraia seemed to spiral into confusion, contemplating what to do.

To demonstrate this wasn’t a trap, I plunged Ignid onto the ground and smiled back at her.

“Really, what’s wrong with your head?”

“I hear that often. But wanting to try out new things on my own body is normal, right? I just feel it a bit stronger than most people. Now, let’s get on with it.”

“…Tch. If you regret it later, don’t say I didn’t warn you!”

As Naguraia said this, she swung the magic-infused ‘Yorum’, wrapping itself around my arm like a snake, and when she pulled just a little, the pointed parts sunk into my arm.

Blood began to pour from the wound, and as she pulled even more, the skin tore, flesh gouged out, and by the time the ‘Yorum’ released my arm, it was covered in blood, with bones visible at several points whilst still barely connected.

“Oh wow, so that’s how it is. Huh. You weren’t able to take it down to the bone. If you had just a bit more strength, you could probably take everything below the elbow off.”

“Why are you so calm while analyzing this?”

As I observed my shredded arm, Naguraia appeared like she wanted to express confusion but simply muttered under her breath.

“Well, don’t worry about me. I had the chance to experience something rare, so as thanks, I think I will finish this up soon.”

I’d learned everything worth learning from her fighting style, and I had the experience of encountering a unique weapon like the ‘Yorum’.

Given that, it no longer made sense to prolong the battle with her, and conversely, if I took any longer, it was possible that the knights who noticed the disturbance would come to interfere.

Thus, resolving to end this swiftly, I enveloped myself in fighting spirit and gripped Ignid with my left hand.

“Hah. I didn’t expect you could even use fighting spirit. For a B-rank adventurer, that’s unbelievable!”

“No way! I’m officially registered as a B-rank. Don’t mind it, I’m just a genius.”

“Oh really? Then I guess I’ll have to go all out to beat this genius of yours.”

Saying this, Naguraia too wrapped herself in a golden aura of fighting spirit, swinging her ‘Yorum’ around with astounding speed.

The ferocity and power of her strikes were immense, and the ground where her sword touched cracked and gouged, but that was just scratching the surface.

“Hmm. It’s certainly a rare weapon, but the movements resemble a whip. It’s not too challenging to dodge if I keep an eye on the way you swing. And…”

After some time dodging Naguraia’s attacks and observing her sword movements, I moved in while deftly avoiding the flailing ‘Yorum’.

“By splitting your sword, you’ve lost your advantage in deflecting attacks. That weapon doesn’t seem to suit you after all.”

Capturing her in the range of Ignid, I unleashed a fierce swing, aiming for her side.

“Kuah!!”

If it had been with her original sword, she could have likely reacted immediately to deflect the blow, but regrettably, that sword now resembled a whip and couldn’t block my strike.

Naguraia bore the brunt of my heavy blow to her flank, crashing through the underground wall with a powerful force.

I used a teleportation spell to move to her location as she flew, where I found Iris with a surprised expression, looking up at me, and Naguraia, having crashed down and dented the ground.

“Hm? Oh, Lily, is that you? Have you finished up over there?”

“N-Luna?!”

Fortunately for Naguraia, being cloaked in fighting spirit meant she survived her collision with the underground wall, and while her arms and legs were bent in unnatural directions, she was still breathing, so it appeared she was alive.

Thus, while the result of my battle against Naguraia was an overwhelming victory, the experience had been quite enjoyable and new for me.
