Chapter 21
According to the original story,
By now, the entrance ceremony must be in complete chaos.
Even if I were to run ahead and warn about the monsters,
I’m sure no one would believe me.
Even without my intervention, during the entrance ceremony,
the capable individuals, including that monstrous supervisor, will surely take care of things.
“I should focus on my own worries.”
Arriving at the eastern gate of the academy, I could see
a horde of monsters approaching from a distance.
■■■■■!
It sounded like a monster from a movie
howling loudly.
“I think they’d be about Level 3.”
Level 3 monsters are the kind that an average adventurer,
at levels 10 to 20, typically hunts down.
“First, I’ll just use Wind Cutter for containment…?”

Elemental Affinity: □□ (varies by copyable target)
Magic Power: 20/400
Firepower: C
Proficiency: E
Ah, right, I used everything earlier to avoid a fight…
“There’s no solution regarding magic power.
I really have to figure something out.”
Reluctantly, I pointed my sword and charged forward.
“Well, I just need to hold on until Stella arrives!”
Shwaaa
“■!”
The monster, cut around its mouth,
howled and bled.
“Come on, you bastards, just try me!”
*
Suddenly, the appearance of a gigantic spider
turned the entrance ceremony into a mess.
Soon, there were loud noises coming from the ceiling too.
Boom, boom, bang!
Concrete chunks began falling from the ceiling,
smashing down to the ground.
“Everyone, take cover!”
“Ahhh!”
With a crashing sound,
just before a massive concrete chunk hit the ground,
a figure leapt up and shattered it with a single hit.
“What the hell is going on?”
Amelia couldn’t hide her shock at the sudden appearance of the monsters.
“There should be a barrier against intruders set up at the academy.
How could they approach without anyone noticing?”
Winged, soulless demons emerged from the revealed ceiling.
“Looks like the academy was underestimated.”
As Amelia withdrew her sword from deep within her robes,
a strong chill began to gather around her.
“Icicle Shot!”
Sharp ice spears pierced the demons.
“Gahhh!”
“Everyone, stay alert! More might come!”
At Amelia’s command,
other staff members began evacuating the students in an orderly fashion.
Boom, boom!
“Is this happening again? How exhausting! Seriously!”
As the ground trembled, Amelia plunged her sword into the floor,
causing a freezing mist to spread around her, solidifying the ground beneath.
‘First, I need to grasp the situation.’
I was about to delegate the fighting to capable forces and check the outer barrier when,
to my surprise, one key power who had been at the podium earlier was missing.
“Where did he go?”
*
“Phew… this is endless.”
Monsters in the form of giant wild boars and giant insects began pouring in without stop.
“How did Stella manage to deal with all these?”
“Gawrrr!”
A wild boar-shaped monster charged at me.
Thud!
Craaash!
I braced myself and lowered my body; when I collided with the boar,
I was pushed back several meters, leaving a mark on the ground.
“Ugh…Get back, you moron!”
Thwack!
I kicked its jaw, sending the wild boar flying.
But without pause, the soulless demons began firing magic bullets at me.
Copyable Target
1. Wind Cutter (Original: Stella)
…
8. Magic Shield (Original: Leonard) > Used
Boom, boom, boom!
“Gah…”
The substantial bombardment cracked my shield.
“Was this level of combat still too much for me…?”
As the assault finally ceased, I struggled to cancel the shield.
If the bombardment had lasted any longer, the shield would have been reduced to powder.
“When is Stella going to arrive?!”
Originally, I thought she was dealing with the monsters at the western or southern gates rather than here.
I imagined that if I could hold out for a little longer, I would soon meet her, but perhaps Stella was struggling more than I expected?
Surely, she wasn’t overcome by other monsters…
“No way that could happen.”
It’s unlikely that Stella would be taken down by mere minions.
Even in her first year, she had grown strong enough to defeat key players from the three major noble houses.
She couldn’t be defeated by things like this.
“Though she might be having a tough time with the minions…
But still, I’m reaching my limit.”
Fatigue began to overwhelm my eyes.
I kept predicting the enemies’ movements to evade and counter their attacks,
but that took a significant toll on my stamina.
“Maintaining this state is definitely going to be difficult.”
As I deactivated Insight Eye,
dealing with the enemy’s attacks became incredibly hard.
I tried to hold on miraculously with what I’d learned in my past experiences.
Thud!
But, perhaps due to the tension, or weakness setting in,
my sword slipped from my grasp.
“Damn…”
The boar charged at me with terrible momentum,
crashing into me head-on.
“Gah!”
The impact sent me flying back,
and as I tumbled, I tried to perform a roll to minimize damage,
though I still crashed into some rocks.
“Ugh…Ugh…”
I felt like all the wind had been knocked out of me.
My consciousness began to fade.
The demons were preparing to fire magic bullets at me,
aiming right at me.
‘If I pass out here, I’m dead.’
Somehow, I managed to lift my body.
But I had neither the energy to evade nor the magic to defend myself left.
In the moment I was pondering what to do,
the monsters abruptly halted their attacks.
“…What’s going on?”
I turned to where they were looking and saw a girl with sky-blue hair
and pure white pupils standing there.
“I was wondering what you were up to, not attending the entrance ceremony.”
As she grasped her rapier and struck a pose,
the sharp chill of ice began to gather around her.
“To think you’re facing all these monsters alone; you must be out of your mind.”
Swish!
The invisible frost pricks in Siel’s sight
suddenly ripped apart the wings of the demons.
“Hyyaah!”
Demons losing their wings began crashing to the ground one by one.
“What the hell is going on?”
Siel approached me with a blank expression and asked.
“How the heck… did you get here?”
“Your actions were quite suspicious.
But that can wait; answer my question.
Did you know the monsters were going to invade?”
There’s no time to explain this entire situation.
“That’s not the important part.”
“What?”
“This situation is likely occurring at the western and southern gates as well.”
“What on earth does that mean?”
“There’s probably already reinforcements heading that way.
You need to go help them.”
Siel looked at me with a puzzled expression, as if not understanding.
“Are you out of your mind? Even if that’s true,
you want to take on this place alone in your condition?”
If something were to happen to Stella, it would be something precious to me, more than my own life.
I need to send even the slightest bit of help to the fighting forces.
“I’m fine. I can handle this much on my own.”
“Stop talking nonsense! You should just stay and…”
Siel’s words suddenly halted.
I knew why she stopped.
Bzzzzzz!
The dreadful air surrounding us felt familiar;
I had sensed it before.
Step by step,
a figure strode closer through the sea of fallen monsters.
“Hmm… how strange…”
A raspy voice that sent tingles of dread through me made my body shiver.
“There should be a ‘Star’ here as planned…”
A demon wearing a fly-shaped mask emerged.
“Who are you?”
Trembling,
Siel’s hand shaking around the rapier.
‘This can’t be happening… why?
More importantly, why is he here already?’
The second-in-command of the demon world often called the Demon King’s most faithful servant
appeared before us.
And a mask in the shape of a fly?
This can’t be real.
The demon with a fly mask, ‘Alastor’,
is in service to the gluttonous Demon King ‘Beelzebub’.
Logically, the Demon King Satan, the king of anger,
should have appeared this time,
continuing the story differently from the original game,
and doing so in the worst possible way.
At this point, I just wanted to grab the production staff who threw me into this world and beat them up.
“Get out of here now.”
At my words, Siel began to tremble, showing refusal.
“Stop talking nonsense! What are you planning to do?”
“I have a plan, so don’t worry about me…”
“Huh…”
Just the demon’s breathing alone took our voices away.
Merely existing before us seemed to suffocate us.
Death itself stood in front of us.
“What do we do… this mission was supposed to assess the capabilities of the ‘Star’ of this generation…”
The Fly Mask scratched its head, looking as if deep in thought.
Then with a gesture of realization, it spoke.
“What if I torment you just enough not to kill you and then see if she shows up?”
As those words left his lips, Siel bit her lip until it bled and stepped forward.
“Haah!”
An icy chill, far beyond what she had displayed until now, amassed around Siel’s rapier.
When she swung her sword down,
an ice vortex rushed towards the Fly Mask.
Icicle Vortex!
“Death Knight!”
As the Fly Mask spoke, a skeleton in armor that seemed to be around two meters tall suddenly sprang up from the ground.
Bam!
Siel’s full-power strike was effortlessly shattered by the skeleton’s shield.
“That’s… not possible…”
“How annoying. Let’s just dispose of them.”
With that, the skeleton charged at us with heavy footsteps.
I stepped forward, shielding Siel with my sword.
Boom!
But the creature’s strike was stronger than any blow I had ever faced.
“Ugh!”
“Kyah!”
I couldn’t withstand its attack and went flying away with Siel.
“Cough… I feel so dizzy…”
I tasted blood in my mouth from the immense shock.
Siel looked like she was about to lose consciousness.
“Haah… is this it…?”
The rumbling footsteps of the skeleton drew near,
and I could feel death closing in.
Just when I thought this was the end,
“Planeta!”
[Star!]
Suddenly, it felt like space had stopped.
I felt as if I was suspended in outer space.
Yet, the energy I felt was strangely familiar.
“Incumbo!”
[Whirl around.]
Large stones radiating silver light began to gather around us and the skeleton.
Soon, the rock fragments formed into a gigantic storm.
Gakakakakak!
The silver tempest engulfed the skeleton,
beginning to shred its body into pieces.
“■■■■!!!”
The sudden pain seemed to surprise it, and it started wailing.
“Shut up!”
The storm lifted the skeleton into the air,
slowly compressing it until, with a pop, it disappeared without a trace.
“…you’re way too late now.”
As I looked toward the voice, standing before me was the one I had longed to see.
“Now that’s unexpected… I didn’t think you’d be this strong.”
That voice belonged to Stella, who stared at the Fly Mask.
“Is that you?”
Her blue pupils glowed fiercely as she looked at the enemy,
her eyes filled with radiant yet deadly intent.
“Did you turn him into this?”
As Stella raised her staff, the ground around the enemy began to warp as if the gravity had shifted.
“…Wow, this is genuinely surprising. I could really die here.”
Just then, with a snap of the Fly Mask’s fingers,
ten massive skeleton warriors jumped up from the ground around her.
“NO!”
Seeing Stella surrounded by ten skeleton warriors
made my heart clench in an instant.
But contrary to my worry, her voice sounded relaxed.
“Is this all you think will kill me?”
Then, a silver glow shimmered through the gaps between the skeletons
as she began chanting a spell.
“Planeta!”
【Star!】
Along with the rumbling sound,
the atmosphere shifted dramatically.
“Ardeo!”
【Explode!】
Boom! Boom! Boom!
With a deafening roar, the skeleton army disintegrated instantaneously.
“…Are you crazy?”
How could someone be this powerful?
How could the skeleton withstand Siel’s ultimate ability without a scratch, yet fall apart so easily now?
“…Hmm… yes, I’ve grasped the situation to some extent.”
The Fly Mask made no further move as if it had lost all desire to fight,
and reached back behind to summon something that looked like a portal.
“Where do you think you’re running off to?!”
As Stella aimed her staff at him, the Fly Mask spoke.
“Do you really think you should be focusing on me this much?”
As he pointed his finger at me,
Stella’s gaze fixated on me, making her movements freeze.
“What’s wrong? Why are you staring at me like that…?”
Suddenly, everything became tinted in red.
With a splatter, blood flowed from my eyes.
Then, accompanied by a ringing in my ears,
my body began to stumble forward helplessly.
‘Did I overuse my powers too much?’
Stella shouted something and rushed toward me,
but I couldn’t hear a thing.
Slowly, my consciousness began to fade.
“…Nn… Nova…! Help….”
Stella embraces me (Clear: check reward yes/no)
