Chapter 112

“What’s with all that giggling?”

“Huh?”

Yoonsoo, who was drinking a beverage, turned around at the calm voice coming from behind him.

There stood Chanhyuk, rummaging through the fridge and pulling out a slice of cake.

What? That cake is Eunha’s.

“Hey, if you eat that, Eunha is going to freak out again.”

“I already told her I’m going to eat it. By the way, did something good happen?”

Good thing, well…

“There were both good and bad things today.”

“Really?”

Chanhyuk’s eyes widened slightly in surprise, but that was about it.

He’s like a machine that only functions well in games; his attitude is still as awkward as ever outside of that arena. It’s no wonder the higher-ups are asking for a little fan service.

You can tell he’s different from the old franchise stars.

Well, putting that matter aside, if he’s a blockhead outside of game talk, then I can just redirect the conversation to gaming.

As he poured his drink into a tumbler, Yoonsoo casually said, “I played ranked games with Eunha and Friede today.”

His tone was so nonchalant, as if it was just another ordinary day, but Chanhyuk reacted immediately.

“Friede. Have you been in touch lately?”

“Not really, more with Eunha. After getting crushed, you’d be curious about what’s going on. Well, she is pretty beautiful, though.”

“…”

Nodding as he sliced the cake at the table, Chanhyuk got right to the point.

“How skilled is she?”

“Which skill? Friede? You must have picked up on it from watching her play with Lotus.”

“It’s different when you’re watching the game with your own eyes, as opposed to just seeing it on screen.”

Well, that’s true.

The player named Friede, just by her skill, it was evident that experiencing it firsthand was a whole different level than watching her on video.

She wasn’t some onion that revealed layers endlessly. It was clear she was someone you could never get tired of.

“Um, it’s hard to put into words. It’s not just that she’s skilled, has great physicality, or quick reflexes. She has this indescribable aura.”

“That’s a bit too abstract…”

Indeed.

The response I just gave was so pitiful that even I couldn’t help but shake my head at my own vocabulary limits.

After downing a gulp of my drink to ease the frustration, the perfect word to describe Friede popped into my mind.

Ah, it seems like eating is the key to getting my brain working.

“The posture…”

“Huh?”

“Her posture is just fantastic.”

At Yoonsoo’s description, Chanhyuk’s eyes cooled down.

Posture, posture, huh…

In a way, that could be just as abstract as my previous explanation. If someone who didn’t know her heard that, they’d probably shout, “What the hell does that even mean?”

But Yoonsoo thought that his answer was more specific and clearer than anything else that had been said about Friede.

“No matter when or where, in any situation, her posture is always perfect. She won’t waver at all. Well, you’re in a similar boat.”

“Really… that’s a solid reference.”

Looks like he’s aware of the upcoming event.

Yoonsoo found himself intrigued by Chanhyuk’s reaction.

“So, what are you going to do? Do you think our ace can beat Friede?”

“It’s not about whether I think I can or not.”

In response to Yoonsoo’s cheeky question, Chanhyuk nodded his head without revealing any emotion.

“I will win.”

“Now that’s the ace I know.”

Even though players from other teams insist Warden is Chanhyuk’s rival, Yoonsoo could see right through that nonsense.

That guy was the true king of Soul Warfare.

Sure, he had lost to Friede once before, but that was during a casual game, and he had no intention of taking it seriously.

Knowing full well Chanhyuk’s true skill, Yoonsoo smiled confidently.

“Oh, by the way, why did you ask me? Eunha probably knows her better.”

“I asked Eunha, but…”

“You asked her?”

At Yoonsoo’s question, Chanhyuk shrugged his shoulders.

“She talked so fast I had to stop her. She didn’t shut up for 15 minutes and still wasn’t done with her explanation.”

“Oh…”

That sounds just like her.

Imagining Eunha praising Friede with fiery passion after that dance she recorded for her vlog, a bitter smile crept onto Yoonsoo’s face.
