Chapter 240
[My song’s music video?]
“Yeah, I dropped it off yesterday.”
The day after I entrusted the music video to Ahn Jung-hwan’s team.
I called Jeong-hoon, feeling as proud as a victorious general returning from a grand battle, boasting about it.
[Wow, really? They took it on?]
Lee Kang-jun didn’t react much, but Jeong-hoon, perhaps having seen the Celestial Realm’s music video, looked genuinely surprised by the mention that it was entrusted to the same place.
Right? This is a big deal.
Seeing Jeong-hoon excited makes me proud.
Now he surely understands the capability of our CEO.
[Honestly, that’s amazing….]
“Right? You can look forward to it; Lee Kang-jun’s song turned out great.”
I’m not just saying that; it really is well done.
Didn’t he see it yesterday? I’m already curious about the reactions.
Of course, whether it’s better than Hyeon-su or the Composer’s songs… that’s another question.
After all, the calm lake music video was previously made by Ahn Jung-hwan’s team through The Six, and didn’t the turning point music video not use my face?
That means we have to compete purely on the song… and I can’t confidently say it will be superior.
Still, since I’ve put in effort, I just hope it pays off.
[I’ll be looking forward to it. Oh, about that….]
“What about that?”
[Should we do another track?]
“Yeah, a track?”
[Yes, there’s still time.]
Does the thought of having a music video being made spark his enthusiasm?
Of course, I wouldn’t mind if he produces one more track.
However, there’s a reason I hadn’t brought up the next song with Jeong-hoon, who’s finished with his track, unlike Lee Kang-jun.
“How about school?”
Isn’t Jeong-hoon a student unlike Lee Kang-jun?
If he’s a student, he should be going to school.
Honestly, thinking about the last track, if I was skipping school to work, my adult conscience would be pricking me. I can’t just let him go until the next track.
[…I’m on vacation.]
“You haven’t started vacation yet.”
This kid.
I was a student until three years ago; how could I not know about winter break?
After all, there are some high school students among my broadcast viewers.
Yesterday in the chat, I saw a few complaining about having to go to school, so there’s no way they could be on vacation already.
[I’m not going to school.]
“I have to.”
High school generally lasts three years during adolescence.
Even though it looks boring and torturous every day, the experiences and joys of those moments will be a great strength for Jeong-hoon when he looks back as an adult.
It means he should go, even if he doesn’t study.
“You’re not planning to do this for one or two years, right? There’s just one year left of school, so you should attend earnestly.”
Didn’t Hyeon-su also go to school properly?
This Miro will surely shape Jeong-hoon into a proper youth.
[But still….]
“First, finish your winter vacation and then come back.”
[Okay…]
Fortunately, Jeong-hoon nodded, seemingly not wanting to oppose the CEO’s grand intention.
Since he has plenty of time, we can start making tracks again during winter vacation.
Anyway, we chatted a bit more afterward.
[Ah, um… when will the music video be made?]
As the conversation flowed naturally back to the music video, Jeong-hoon, unable to hide his excitement, cautiously asked.
Completion of the music video…
“I don’t know.”
[What?]
“I didn’t set a deadline for their team.”
Honestly, I don’t know either.
Like when I worked with Lee Kang-jun, it could be made quickly, or it might take a long time like during the Celestial Realm’s second album.
The good news is that those people are not the type to slack off just because the deadline is extended.
Given the atmosphere of that workshop at that time, if they get a commission, they would probably work all day long.
They’re likely still deep into production, right?
After they completely finish the final version of Lee Kang-jun’s music video, they will jump straight into Jeong-hoon’s.
And before that, I also planned to roughly sketch it out first, so I need to start working too.
Now that I think about it, shouldn’t I be charging less?
The client is working on the sketch and sending it over; the music video team of Ahn Jung-hwan is truly blessed.
However, seeing that Jeong-hoon seems to be looking forward to the music video… should I put extra effort into making a better rough sketch for him?
“If you want it done quickly, I’ll see if I can prioritize it.”
[Really?]
“Of course.”
If the rough sketch is detailed and numerous, the timeline for the music video production will surely be pushed up significantly.
Since I also need to do my broadcast today, I should take some time to draw during the broadcast.
***
[Miro’s Drawing Broadcast]
As I thought, I turned on the drawing broadcast after a long while in the evening.
I don’t even remember when the last time was.
-???
-How long has it been since you’ve drawn?
-Have you run out of things to do recently?
The chat was just as confused by the sudden drawing broadcast.
Seeing their reactions, I displayed a white canvas on the broadcast screen and turned on the mic.
“Can you hear me well?”
-Yes, yes!
-You sound good!
“Yes, today is a drawing broadcast.”
If I have to draw, I might as well do it while broadcasting, right?
Just now, while listening to Jeong-hoon’s song, I have some scenes I want to draw.
I’ll draw Miro’s character, and since Tenshi is coming out too, it’d be nice to draw her next to Miro’s character.
Since this is a broadcast, I plan to sketch a rough that’s not too casual.
Should I start with Miro’s character?
I begin swiftly sketching the figure that comes to mind on the screen.
-Wow, haha!
-What are you drawing?
-Please draw Miro in a swimsuit!
“Today, I won’t draw anything weird.”
Unfortunately, since these are scenes from the music video, I doubt the viewers will get the images they want.
And I also don’t want to risk getting banned.
In the past, it seemed like The Six was gearing up for something on YouTube, but lately, it’s been quiet.
It seems I’ll have to be cautious as the live broadcasts continue on Dwitch.
-OMG, haha!
-But what are you drawing?
“I’ll start with Miro first.”
I focused on drawing the character first, putting aside the background for later.
Miro’s pose is sitting with her legs crossed.
But since she’s a character, she looks slightly enchanting even just like this.
Her hair is pink, and she has little horns on her head, so if you think of it, she might look a bit like a succubus.
-Wow, haha!
-Ooh!
-Check out those thighs!
“Hey now, don’t tease the drawing.”
Anyway, I continued drawing.
Finishing the rough lines for her outfit and expression, I lightly sketched a chair underneath since she’s sitting.
Is this enough?
“What do you think?”
-You really draw well, haha…
-Draw Anna too!
-How about drawing the second generation members too?
“Second generation? Sure, I’ll draw them later.”
If I finish drawing everything I want today, it seems like it’d be nice to sketch the second generation members too.
I lightly drew the first generation members last time, so it’d be good to sketch the second generation for them to enjoy.
But for now, I just continued filling in the sketch.
Since Miro’s character looked a bit like a zombie, I’ll draw Tenshi here.
After all, she’s featured in the song, so it wouldn’t be odd for her to be alongside.
I immediately searched for Tenshi’s character and took a look.
Hmm… she’s a bit small.
I don’t know if it’s reality-based design or if it fits fan needs, but she’s short.
Still, since Miro’s character is sitting on a higher chair, it should work out that their head heights are somewhat similar.
After pondering for a while, I started sketching her beside Miro.
-What are you drawing??
-Who is that?
-Is she a second generation member?
“No, I have a friend.”
-??
-What?
The viewers, initially confused, began to recognize the silhouette as it gradually took shape.
-Oh, I get who that is, haha!
-Long time no see!
-Do you still keep in touch?
“Touch? Sure.”
I contacted them recently regarding Jeong-hoon’s song featuring recording. Occasionally, we play games together, so I’d say we’re maintaining our relationship.
Anyway, as I drew Tenshi next to Miro, they matched well together.
Originally, the concept of Tenshi’s character is quite similar to Miro’s anyway.
Isn’t she a purple-haired angel?
Placing the pink-haired demon Miro beside her fits the concept and looks great.
While an ordinary person might scoff at this, isn’t this my job and everyday life?
I’ve built up quite the tolerance for this stuff already.
-Wow, haha!
-They really match, haha…
-Seriously, you draw so well!
Of course, my viewers are just the same.
Anyway, since I have completed the rough sketch, I started working on the background.
Miro sitting cross-legged and Tenshi standing with her arms crossed side by side look calm and serene, so I decided to make the background a bit chaotic.
I drew a few things flying around in the wind.
This way, the overall balance of the picture comes together.
This could turn into a nice piece of art!
After not drawing for so long, I feel a surge of inspiration as I finally grab a fan again.
Once the underdrawing was done, a truly magnificent piece was born, even if it wasn’t finished yet.
-Wow!
-This is insane!
-You draw so fast, huh?!
-This is pretty cool;
The viewers are admiring something they have no clue is a music video scene.
I bet they’ll be shocked when they see it in the music video later!
Watching the viewers astonished, or maybe just because I really liked the rough sketch, I felt an itch to draw more.
Originally, I was intending to create multiple rough drafts like this…
“Should I try to complete it?”
Once the spark is lit, I want to create a perfect piece.
And wait, while the rough draft is nice, wouldn’t they enjoy it more if I sent a completely finished piece to Ahn Jung-hwan’s team?
Plus, knowing Tenshi’s nature, sending a well-done drawing would surely make them happy.
Most importantly, my hand is already out there, beginning to trace the final lines over the rough sketch.
I have no choice now.
With this, I must aim to create the best piece.
After a long time, the little artist within me has re-emerged.
